Idea for new site feature, hear me out...
Here's what I'm looking at. Most of the people interested in performance mods want to know what it will do for their specific car. Stick is faster than Manual, 96 is lighter than 99, CAI is colder than JWT, etc... It's difficult for anyone to get a strait answer to exact performance increase for their specific car, especially when you begin to mix the components, locations and drivers. However, we have the ultimate control group by which to research the exponential performance changes with all the variables.
One could set up a tree form similar to Tirerack. First choose your year, then your model, then the extra trims, then the bolt ons, then the region, etc.... It does a database search and comes up with the closest match cars, who the drivers were, the times they received, the location, etc...
I know that this could become a monster of a task, but I'm hoping you guys, the members, might jump to the task with enthusiasm. Given the numbers we have here, It could go very well.
Is this a good idea? Does it interest anyone?
Just an idea. Thanks for the ear.

You got it!
That's what I'm hoping for. Too many people ask questions about one product Vs. another product. "Which is faster?" blah, blah, blah. This could give us unwavering proof toward the "better" products, or at least give us some solid reasoning for selecting methods of mods and or racing.
