Clearshield Paint Protection Film
Clearshield Paint Protection Film
Has anyone used the ClearShield brand (www.clearshieldppf.com)? How does it compare to Invinca Shield? I got a quote of $340 for the deluxe kit installed. I saw another car with some sort of paint protection film on it, but I didn't like how you could see the line running across the hood of the car, where the film stopped. Will this line be there no matter what brand I choose?
Also, has anyone had the HID theft prevention kit installed? I got a letter from Nissan saying a few states in the NE get this and some "Data Dot" thing covered for free. I'll probably get that done during my next oil change.
Just looking for some feedback. Thanks.

Not a lot of people responding here so I will try. It came stock on my 944T and 911. Clear pieces of adhesive film about 3-4 mils thick. But i saw the price in your post and almost choked. You are talking about $20 of film here.
Bottom line, it is a good idea. But i would figure out how to do it on the cheap. Try to buy the film and have a window tinter type guy cut and fit it. Im on my second max and the trouble areas are the bumper, the lower 2-3 inches of hood and towards the rear of the wheel openings.

I have....
The 3M version of the stuff.
I paid about 300 for film and installation. That is the hood, bumper and mirrors. DEFINATELY a worth while investment.
I recommend that unless you like frustration, dont attempt it yourself. Contrary to popular belief, it is difficult, but not impossible to work with.
Yes it might be less expensive to get it in bulk and fiddle with it. But I will say this, its NOT going to look as good. Although it is similiar to laying tint, there are MANY more nooks and crannies that have to be done "just" right to make sure it looks good.
