headlight harness question

is this the same one some people here on the org use so that the higher wattage bulbs dont melt the wires?

No.

This looks like just a connector replacement to handle the higher heat or damaged connector.

If you're running overwattage, you want to get the complete kit with independent relays and fuses. The existing fuses are capable of handling stock wattage.
