How much hp do you get with a Greddy EVO?

Everyone is talking about sound and looks. Frankly, I don't care about these. I just want to know how much more power would I get with a Greddy Evo catback. BTW, I have a Stillen intake to go along with it. Anybody with an intelligent response? None of the "because I have it" responses.

Probably 3-5. I would say it is more of an "I'm cool" mod.

WTF are you talking about dude? I have my stock muffler (because I don't want to sound like a ricer) and I have no neon lights. But nice try.

By the way, don't believe everything a manufacturer tells you. No one has dynoed anywhere near that amount.

i was just talking in general....so what ur saying is that its ricey to have an exhaust....what kindof bs is that...i understand what ur saying about a fart can sound but the evo doesnt sound like that at all...as a matter of fact when i first got it i could barely hear it at all..so where do you come off saying how its too "ricey" ur probly the type of person who rides around with just 17's and a system thinking hes cool...or u could be completely stock preaching to everone else...ok thats enough....so wait how can a straight through design exhaust not add even a little power...its not restrictive like a chambered one...wtf who cares im happy with it....the reason i got the maxima was because i saw potential in it, and im just trying to take advantage of it....by the way no **** about the injen intakes....whats the deal wit that cause i was planning actually to order mine this week....they have a dyno on custommaxima...so i was just wondering

Here's the thread on the OBX dyno

http://forums.maxima.org/showthread....ht=obx%2A+dyno

It looks like a 5-7 hp gain. Should be similiar for the Greddy.

The only other Greddy Evo specific post i could remember was made be Emax. He added a Greddy Evo and RT cat and gained like 7-9hp.

Whatever u gain in hp up top , you lose in torque down low
we're talking maybe 5hp

If you look at my post of the dyno for the OBX, thats 5-7whp gain with no loss down low. As a matter of fact it produced gains throughout the rpm albeit much smaller at lower rpms. Just take a look at all the information I posted with it. The link to the dynos are buried somewhere later in the post.

I love people who make assumptions without having any knowledge about how an exhaust system works...

You will not lose anything down low by changing out just a muffler...everything up to that point is the same. Check out the hundreds of dynos in the dyno forum for all the proof you need...

Many org members have posted they're car feels a loss or torque under3500
rpm but they feel more pull at higher rms

Personally, I think any loud exhaust on a Maxima doesn't belong.. But to each their own.

The "butt" dyno lies.......

Hey my Max feels slow becuase of how smooth the car rides , but when pulling away on someone, it makes you think twice how fast our cars really are.

this is not because a mod like exhaust causes you to lose power down low. exhaust simply frees up your air supply, which logically will give you mroe power the more air must be pushed through, ie up top. so, this mod simply adds the bulk of its gains in the upper revs rather than down low. this makes it seem like the car is slower down low, but its not, its only faster up top.

BACK to the original question... To be totally honest, I don't know how exactly how much a catback adds as far as horsepower, but the biggest gain that I got from my exhaust was driveability. I have a manual tranny and berfore the I got my exhaust, my car stumbled and was jerky all the time, especially before it warmed up. Letting off the gas while still in the same gear was horrible. it jerked and threw a fit and wasn't that fun to drive. Now, it's as smooth as butter. The engine has more room to breath and feels unrestricted now. I see that you also drive a '00 max. If you're really after power from an exhaust and don't mind the noise, go all out. Get a y-pipe ( best hp gains for a '00 model max as far as exhaust) and then get a complete cat-back. I went all cattman (y-pipe and catback) because I trust the company's quality and I'm completely satisfied in all fields. Power is definatly better and exhaust sound is good. anyway just my $.02

Thanks.

Personally, I tried the aftermarket exhaust thing and it wasn't for me. There's just something weird about driving with 40 year old businessmen with a loud exhaust.
