not hard at all:

- the panel covering the shifter pops right out
- unscrew one screw & pop out the ashtray & disconnect that light
- CAREFULLY pop out the piece holding the two airvents & hazard/rear defroster section (it's very easy to break those vents...i've done it three times, but they're easy to fix), and disconnect the hazard button & defroster button
- unscrew the 4 screws holding the rest of the center stack

The "fun" part will be reomving the 4 screws holding the HU in...those things are a huge @$$pain...i had to destroy my HU to get them out.

Enjoy!

15 minutes to remove it easily. Very very simple, I have pulled my center console 10 times at least and it is very easy. Just make sure to have some soft towels or something to lplace the console piece on so you do not scratch the shifter area.
