auto transmission/ecu question

ok, for starters I had the tranny replaced under warranty about 4 months ago. now im having problems again. i think it may just be the ecu though.
when i floor it from a slow roll there is a hesitation between 1st and 2nd then it kicks in really hard. i actually chirp the tires when it shifts. would that just be something with the ecu since it "tells" the tranny when to shift? im going to my dealership this afternoon to have them look at it. i talked to the service manager and he thinks it might be the ecu too. what do you all think.

btw, im cool with the service guys so they will be honest. i have had alot of work done there and they have hooked me up alot. no $60 charge for 10 minutes of labor, etc. i actually took the manager and the senior service guy a case of beer each. it was a thank you for the help, but also buttering them up for later. its all about making connections!!!!

Jason,
My 2k3 is very slow to kick back to 1st during a slow roll, especially if it just went to second (or third depending on speed). I agree with you that the programming that controls shifts seems lazy. When I floor it under those conditions, it generally takes almost two seconds before it decides it is o.k. to shift back to first. Very annoying, it makes this very powerful car feel sluggish. I haven't tried manually shifting to first to see if that forces an immediate shift.... maybe next time, I'll do some experimenting. Most of the time, you don't really think to do that when you need first gear immediately.

Odd, from everything you are describing, it sounds like your car needs to go in for the hesitation TSB. I'm not entirely sure why you're seeing this problem with a new transmission though, unless they used your old solenoids and TCM (both of which are replaced per hesitation TSB) Do a search for the TSB, print it out and bring it with you next time you go to the dealership.

my hesitation is from 1st up to 2nd from a stand still or slow roll.

ok just went to the dealership with the TSB. solenoids were new with new tranny so they are ok. said it might be TCM. i have to take it in next week to have them test it more. new TCM would be around $500
maybe i will just deal with the hesitation
