I took it to mechanic who cleared my Airbag light b4 and the light is blinking again so I took it to the same mechanic but this time he said it won't clear out.....does anybody had this problem?? mechanic told me that I should take it to the dealer.

 

I had the same problem...Just keep repeating the process numerous times and it will work. What process does your mechanic use to remove the light?

 

your car still should have warranty for your airbags... i suggest you bring in it to your dealer to get repaired properly.

 

Ummm, I would suggest finding out the cause of the problem, instead of just turning it off.. If the light is blinking, there's most likely something wrong.

 

Welcome to the club....this was discussed before. And I believe someone stated that it needed to be fixed by the dealer. Something about replacing the air bag chip or something...not sure though. Search maybe???

 

same problem! took mine to the dealer... $15 to check the airbag... +$50 to fix the blinking problem... but the blink has returned!!! ahhhh

 

fixed under warranty: mine is a 98 SE with side air bags. They had to replace the harness on the passenger side for the side bag. They stapled the computer printout to the invoice so I could see the error.

 

Shouldn't the airbag be considered part of the safety system and have a lifetime warranty?

 

Mine is doing the same for the past 6months, I was fixed once, they replaced the main computer and still it came back.

I tried to reset the airbag computer using the method this one person stated and it still doesnt work.

Been having the same problem. The airbag module for my driver's side impact airbag is gone, and needs to be replaced. . . I had a friend at my local dealer diagnose it with the Nissan handheld computer (forget what it's called). Originally the dealer told me it would be $950 to replace the air bag module.

 

do u have side air bags?
