group deal usually works like if we get a X amount of people the seller guves a reduced price to satisy both his profits and customers... this is a very good way to get ur product name out on the market...
i recently ran a sucessful GD with CUSTOMMAXIMA.COM on a product that is normally $66.00 w/o shipping ...with 10 buyers we got the product for $49.00 shipped

I can vouch for ANT.. great guy to deal with, and a very good product. This reminds me to get off my lazy *** to get some more stuff covered. Good luck with the GD.. I may be in again to get some SS for a friend.

This is IlyaFromThe415 from CAF, by the way ANT.

I'd be interested too. Want to see what the price is first and how many buyers we need.

Let us Know ANT (you might remember me from B15sentra.net) Did you post a thread there? Some people were interested in a FatMat GB. Maybe you can persuade them.

i'm also interested if discount is right. Which org member recommended u to come here? Just want to make sure u r a legit person and not some knock off trying to take people for their money.

Are u legally doing this with your company or just trying to help us out? Can u give us more info on yourself?

Dude, ANT is a respectable member of caraudioforum.com, and his products are top notch. He is quite legit, and will not take you for your money. It's his own company, so it's all legal and all good.

Thanks for the plug Ilya.
the other forum member that suggested I post this here was jmax. he sent me an email yesterday.

First I would need to know which product everyone would be interested in. The most popular one is Dampliifier, though I have made some changes to it, so Damplifier .v2 will be ready to hit the street on the 4th of december.

Here is what I am thinking
Regular price on a 50 ft. kit of Damplifier is $139.99

1-7 group deal orders $69
8-15 group deal orders $59 each
16+ group deal orders $54
plus actuall shipping charges

keep in mind my best dealer price on this product is $58 each plus shipping. Dealer 1 is $79

is that kinda how this group deal works?
this is a first for me.

-STFU-80 group deal
40 sq feet kit
4-6 kits $129
7+ kits $119

-Maxima trunk will take about 30-50 sq feet depending on how many layers you want to do.

-PHX residents can pick it up to avoid shipping charges

Hope all this helps

I was thinking its going to take atleast 40 sq ft. I dont know if too many layers are going to be needed though, STFU-80 is 80mil thick. Its almost like using two layer of the normal stuff.

This deal sounds good. Especially since I will be fixing my sunroof soon and might as well add some sound deadening while everything is out!!

Hey ANT do you mind driving over to California so I can save on shipping costs? J/K

Those are good prices and I would be in just let me know how this is going to work out. Are you going to set a time period/end date so prospective buyers know when to purchase?

Also, what payment method do you prefer? (Credit Card, Money Order, Paypal)

Do you mind if I spread the word to to B15Sentra.Net? Not sure if you are doing this for just the Maxima owners (in that case what am I doing here...I drive a Sentra!)

You familiar with Dynamat? Similar product with different company name, but better customer service. This is sound deadening material that can be applied almost anywhere, and not just the trunk. Can be placed on doors, floor, roof, firewall, etc.

Quick question for everyone using this stuff (and then some).

How much weight would the thing add if i were to put one layer on the cabin floor/doors/pillars/trunk? Is it a significant weight gain or would the sound deadening+ambient noise lowering be worth it?

The 50 ft. roll was something like ~23 pounds. You would probably need 2 rolls to cover all of that surface area, so I would say that you would be adding roughly 50 pounds to your car. However, this application is to help increase dB level and decrease rattling in a car with a system in it, right? So unless you go racing a lot and every pound counts, then this won't affect your car's performance any more than the system you already have in there. And yes, it would be very worth it.

Here are a few questions to your answers guyS!

Not sure abou tthe time line.how long do group deals usually last for?

Paypal is the preferred method of payment.

The kits are not for the trunk only. the material can go any where in the entire car.

I would say pay now, but not sure what price to give you. dont know how man kits will be ordered through the group deal. untill I know that the pric eis still bouncing around.

I dont mind if you tell the other forums about this deal.thats cool with me, but they either have to have a seperate deal on that forum, or become a member of this forum to get in on it.

Hey ANT,

Why don't you make a list of people who are seriously going to purchase so we can get a rough idea of who's in and who's out. Send an email to everyone who has responded saying they want in to check how serious they are about getting in on this deal.

I would like to be added to the list. I can do payment in about 2 weeks (that should give us enough time to see how many people are interested and what the final price would be).

As for timeline that would be entirely up to you. If everybody is ready to pay then you can end it soon. If people need some time to save up then let it run for a certain period of time (i.e. - mid December, end of December)

Again, I am definitely in. But you can't have a group deal without a deadline or list of people who are DEFINITELY in.

how about this
if you are in, respond to this thread, with the word "IN" along with how many bulk kits of which product you want.
The group deal will end on december 15th

sound good?

What adhesive do you use in your products? Is it tar based? If so, how well does it hold up in the sun? I used to have some sound dampening (decline to say who) and the sucker melted. Anton also had problems with it on his Maxima as well.

the adhesive depends on the product
the vibration dampers; STFU80 and Damplifier use a bitumen base. Damplifier used an SBS modified asphalt, and STFU80 used and SBR modified butyl rubber base.
Damplifier can hold up to 230 degrees, and STFU-80 can withstand over 300 degrees.

all the other products use a high temperature acrylic adhsive, either a 3mill or 4 mil PSA. al can withstand between 250 and 350 degrees.

I have had no complaints from anyone localy.
I have only had 1 complaint at all, and that was because they ghuy did not clean the surface of the trunk first. he laid the mat down over a dusty oily trunk and it came off within a year.

gotta prep the surface first!

hope this helps

Sorry, a couple more questions... What's the difference between damplifier V1 and V2? Also, damplifier has a dimpled surface. If I were to use a roller over this, will the dimple pattern still hold or will it get flattened out? Also, if I were to double up on the damplifier for example, how well does the dimpled surface hold the second layer?
For damplifier and STFU80, the temperature data, are those DLF readings? Thanks again. Sorry for being a pain with all the questions.

Oh yeah, how flexible is STFU since it's 80mil thick?
