GD on Valentine One Radar Detectors?!? Please....!!!!
I have never seen these up for a GD. But if someone knows how to get them in bulk and cheap. I'm pretty sure we could have a nice sized list of people on this website who would buy one in a heart beat if the price were right.

I agree, this would be great if we could get it to happen.
Dude,
Sorry to burst your bubble, but this has been tried over and over to no avail. It seems that Valentine wants every penny and will never do a group deal. The only way you could get a group deal if you knew the CEO/President of the company. I know there are guys out there that can do an Escort Passport 8500 deal..but whom.. i have no idea.

You can read a bunch of info on the 8500 here: http://www.radartest.com/article.asp?articleid=1064
As well as info regarding the V1 vs. 8500 war - This is some good reading if the V1 ads sway you... http://www.radartest.com/article.asp?articleid=9070
Here's how they test (as well as info on V1's sneaky testing): http://www.radartest.com/article.asp?articleID=5
Oh, and I LOVE my 8500 - saved my A$$ quite a few times now...

I remember talking to someone about a group deal on these detectors. I did get a group deal on it, but everyone went BLAH... said they could get it cheaper. I'll try to contact this guy again and we will see what they say. So if someone can get them cheaper, how come they didn't get a group deal?

For which one?
It's a great deal for the 8500 and an awesome deal for the V1...

Could someone help me out? I've posted something here a while ago, perhaps a little over a year ago but can't do a search. If someone can do a search on a thread which I started on Escort Radar detectors, I will follow up on it. Please PM me or paste the link for me. Thanks!

Since it appears that none of you are V1 owners, let me tell you a little about the V1 vs. the 8500.
1) Both the 8500 and the V1 offer front AND rear LASER detection
2) The V1 offers front AND rear RADAR detection - See owners manual at http://www.valentine1.com/
3) The 8500 offers only front RADAR detection (NO rear RADAR detction) - See owners manual at http://www.escortradar.com/
3) The V1 offers DIRECTIONAL ARROWS
4) The V1 offers a BOGEY COUNT (up to 9)
5) http://www.radartest.com/ is privately owned by the president of Escort, so the data located there should be considered biased
6) The V1 does NOT offer a hidden install option, but DOES offer a concealed display
7) I will soon be offering a bracket that you can replace the clock in your car with the V1's concealed display unit
8) Both the 8500 and the V1 are comparable when it comes to detecting radar/laser at specified distances from the front/sides. The biggest V1 advantages are that the V1 has rear radar detection, as well as the directional arrows (to indicate the location of the source).
9) Valentine1 has not, does not, and will not offer any group deals.... ever!
10) The V1 is $400
11) The 8500 is $300
12) The V1's on ebay are running on outdated software. Get the serial number from the seller. Then visit V1's website and click on upgrade. Enter the serial number to see how much it will cost to upgrade the software. Most of the time it is more expensive to buy a $179 V1 on ebay and pay $229 to upgrade the software... than it would be to buy the unit brand-new from V1 (and you get a warranty with the new one).
Just some words of wisdom from an 8500 AND a V1 owner. The 8500 has since gone on it's way. The first time you see the directional arrows on the V1 and it saves you from a ticket, you'll wonder how you did without it. Why settle for just a "beep.. beep.. beep" when you can know WHERE the "beep.. beep.. beep" is coming from?

Rear radar will reflect off images in front of, and to the side of, your car - allowing forward facing radar detectors to catch it in enough time to do something about it.
The 8500 will tell you how many signals, and which band the signal is, if setup to do so. This is better than the 'Bogey' counter because it actually tells you multiple signals from multiple bands, all at once.
In addition, the 8500 can be set to display the frequency of the radar. If you know what frequency your area uses, you'll know immediately if it's a false or not.
Radartest.com also links to the multiple reviews of the 8500 by other companies, not affliliated with the radar detector manufacturers.
Course, if I could get a V1 for $200, I would

As far as the concealed display mount, here's a sneak preview:
http://maxima.theowensfamily.com/radar.html
Remember that the mount is in it's first stages of being manufactured, but I've already secured a company to make the moldings once I sent them a sample.
I'm still working on making the entire housing out of plexiglass. Once I am finished, I will send it off so the mold can be created and the final product can be manufactured.

http://www.radartest.com/ is owned by Craig Peterson of Phoenix, AZ, the president of Escort is Greg Blair of West Chester, OH. I don't see much relationship there.
More BS from V1 owners.

i think i read somewhere that the .org is trying something new for a while ... only Donating Members can search now
I knew the search function was disabled for non-donating members. I did do a search on 'THREAD STARTERS', and couldn't find my name for some particular reason. Jeesus, I try to ask one simple question (for help) and I get beat on by K PAZZO plus the entire ORG. Then when I put in my 2 cents, everyone puts in their 10 cents.
