12.995@106.30mph - 2.04 60 ft time

Well the temp was around 70 and the track sucked. It was slick as hell so better times to come.

Mods: Automatic Tranny
Zex 100 shot
WSP Y and B pipe
UDP
GAB

Bottle pressure was at 800psi and the car was smoking hot. Normally I let it cool but I didn't really have time to do that and get a good run in with decent bottle pressure. Timeslip breakdown

R/T - .700
60' - 2.043 on slicks
330 - 5.525
1/8 - 8.407
mph - 85.24
1000 - 10.895
1/4 - 12.995
mph - 106.30

My tranny isnt liking the shifting under that much power load so something needs to be done soon but for now this is all I can give. I feel a 12.7 @ 108 is easily attainable with this setup and a little better traction on a cooler day, also letting my car cool.

Have it on video also...I need 24" slicks

Whoo hoooo!!! I guess my prediction was not that far off. But how can you be pulling 2.0's on slicks... hahahah. Were you spraying right out of the hole? Great times. Your can definately get a couple more tenths out of that set up. The important thing is the 12 sec time slip

Raise the bottle pressure another 150 psi and you will be set.

Well the track was not prep worth a crap. I can pull 2.0 60's on motor and I was spraying but not right out of the whole because of traction. I think a high 1.8 is possible but my cars weight won't allow me to touch jime's amazimg times. I was running full interior also. Next trip to the track will consist of ice bags, no interior, and hopefully a bottle heater or some way of heating the bottle...I guess the floor heater. One more thing I will try is the drop resistor spraying because the tranny is having a hard time shifting with all the power going through. Ohh well a 12 is a 12 I guess but I guarantee I will do better next trip and going to a better track.

Matt

Stick the bottle in some hot water. It will help raise the pressure.

woah man, thats awesome. i just looked at your dyno w/ 100 shot and i guessed you would get around 12.7 if you went to the track. if the conditions were better all around, i dont think a 12.7 would be hard at all. one more max in the 12s!

Good job Matt. I assume you went to the Rock? Get to Fayetteville. They are usually good at prepping the track for regular TnTs.

Try unpluggin the resistor. I can imagine how slow those shifts are under that much power. Takes like 2 full seconds to shift? Ouch! lol Good luck in Fayetteville.

you were on my ballot. I took into account what a car could do, not just how it looked.

Absolutely Amazing, Matt!

So you bit the bullet and put the 5124 kit on.

Great time. But, keep your engine out of the shop with that kit on there.
Can't wait to see the vids.

There is much more work involved in trying to install a 5124. If he was going to use a dry kit I would have used the 5115 because they're cheaper.
He used the Zex Mustang wet kit.

Outstanding

Grocery getter my a s s ! That is so crazy, a VQ in the 12's. That trap is very healthy too.

Mike wasn't far off, I think he said you would get a 12.85

When you launched, did you encounter considerable torquesteer or wheelhop ? Must have been a pita trying to keep it together out of the hole ! I ask because on my stock Max, I get crazy torquesteer at the track, and sometimes I intentionally run in the rubber left by the dinosaurs that ran in front of me, so I can get a good launching surface.

Once you can get to a sticky track, and you get your 12.7, 12.8, where do you go from their ???? Once the mod itch hits you, you gotta scratch it.

I either build the auto or 6 speed swap. My suspension cuts down on most of the torque steer but I was still spinning like a SOB on the slicks. My tranny is already saying FU so I have to be careful. I'll be going to a better track soon we will see what happens

Im giggling like a schoolgirl here, at the though of your Max, going through a 6spd swap. A beefed up 6spd tranny/clutch, and you will be running neck and neck with Z06s. With a swap, EVEN on smaller shot, you will still be running high 12's low 13's.

The look on the face of a Z06 driver getting pulled out of the hole by a slicked and spray bolt on 5th gen = Priceless !!!

Keep up the good work, and way to represent the Max's !

Haha nice 60' time.

Seriously though, congrats on the 12s but I'm sure you were like WTF when you saw the 60'. You can probably cut low 1.8 or high 1.7 with track prep and a nitrous launch because I can cut 1.8s sometimes with a stock clutch and just a 5500rpm dump, and alot less power.

12s hmm I might need to do something to my car soon. Can't have an auto faster than me

yea I was happy I hit 12's and even more happy when I saw that crap 60'...it left a lot of room for improvement. I'll be hitting up a better track in the coming weeks. Funny thing is the day before I went the weather was like 50...then Sunday for the import event its like 70 im sweating in my sweater and my face gets burned

Drop resistor mod DEFINITELY. Next VB mod and tranny cooler. Got Redline ATF?

If you convert to 6spd, you'll get slower. The auto is better for CONSISTENT 1/4-times when you're THAT fast. Jime has proven it.

Amsoil =

Redline =

I'd go with Redline myself, but Amsoil is awesome stuff too.
