Front sealed needed when replacing Crankshaft Pulley.

Is this the seal that i need " Engine, Crankshaft and bearings, Front seal, FRONT SEAL, Maxima - VQ30DE"

Thats what is says on the Conicelli Parts Center website. If so, i can just order it from them. thanks

also, i called my local dealership and they want $10.75 for it, I thought it was supposed to be like $5-$8?

Yes I would also like to know if the crank pulley seal is leaking... Do I just buy the seal/gasket and replace it or i have to get some more parts? Thank you.

I bought a new one, just to be on the safe side. It was about $8 shipped from the dealership.

i just got back from the dealership. The seal cost me $10.75 and says part # 13510-31IU00, did i get the right one? thanks

edit: i just checked on http://www.greghome.com/Greg's%20Garage/1999%20Nissan%20Maxima%20SE/Underdrive%20Pulley.htm, i got the right seal, but why in the world did mine cost almost twice as much?

Thats the one, dunno why you would have to pay $2 more though.

'Cause when you order from internet dealers they'll give you a better deal...ie - most dealers give 25% off. 25% off of $10 is about $8.

You don't _have_ to replace the front main seal, but there's really no reason not to when you have the pully off.

I would just get a new crank from Unorthadox. It comes with the seal and is considerably lighter than stock. I felt an improvement almost immediately and my gas mileage has improved by about 1.5 - 2.0 mpg.
