It's a typo. The VQ30DET does not exist. The cedric from 94+ could have a VG30det. It's the 300zx engine.

The VQ30DET does very much exist... it was put in a Nissan car in Japan. Tilley's99 did soemthing with swapping the internals of the two VQ's. PM him if he is still around.

Yes it does. It was available in the JDM version of the Q45 called the Gloria. There were different engine options for the car, VQ30DE-T was one. With search down there is no way to search. But a guy called Tilleys99 or something installed the upper manifold and turbo on his Maxima. The static compression ratio is 9:1 and it has some other features but other than that its the same as the US VQ30DE.

Incorrect...The Gloria is not the Q45, the Gloria is the M45, see first link. The Cima is the Q45, see second link. The Gloria does have the VQ30DET in I the Gran Turismo edtion (I believe, since Japanese script is a pain to translate, I'm not sure which versions come with which engines, but look at the third link below). Also, the Cedric is a different variation of the Gloria, but I'm not sure of the differences, but it does have the VQ30DET as well (last link)

Gloria

Cima

Gloria Engines
Gloria CVT
Cedric Engines

Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but I thought the hp of the VQ30DE-T was something like 220. I remember thinking that's alot of work for 30 horsepower when the idea was originally discussed. Although I don't know what psi that is at or any of the other specifics.

I don't hink the HP is as big of an issue as is the potnetial. But with the amount you will spend you could just about get a turbo. There is a max with a VQ30DET. there is a gallery of it somewhere, but the install looks kinda crappy.

Umm, I am talking to someone right now and he has sent me pictures of the engine. The only thing worth taking from the whole block is the pistons and Mardigras said the intake manifold can be made to fit with a little work. So importing a whole block for a couple of thousand is not worth the money or time. Get some custom pistons and connecting rods for cheaper and you will be alright. I still need to get a quote from my guy and I will informer you okay. He is located in california.

Wow 1500 is a great price only if I had the money.

Intake manifold: 300-400 dollars
Pistons: 300-400 dollars
Connecting rods: 300 dollars
Heads: 200-300 dollars
Crank: 400 dollars
Cams: 300 dollars

Plus everything else. That is well worth the money, I need to go get a loan.
