drop first, then shoes

IMO, rims makes our 4x4 look much WORSE without a drop, while being dropped on stock rims still looks pretty decent, then when you GET rims, your car will look sick

Drop before rims. Even the nicest rims don't look very good on an Explorima. Christmas is also mod/maintenence time for me. I'm getting UDP, System installed, replacing fuel filter, getting alignment, fixing sunroof leak, and making my tezza's skyline-ified.

YO split the cost of rims! Nice rims are expensive. If I were you opt to splitting the cost of rims. A drop will cost you about 300 the most if you get some springs and use your stock struts with the install.

DONT USE STOCK STRUTS WITH DROP, you dink
While hes at it he might as well cut mad coils

A good drop does NOT cost 300...you can get springs for 150, struts (kyb agx) for 250-300 and then there are dustboots, bumpstops, and allt he little Shiit Plan on spending 600 for a REALLY GOOD DROP

I bought my wheels first and had the 4x4 look going for a while(see sig). I now have it dropped and it looks a TON better. I would say go for the drop first unless you a running on sawblades (like I was) or some other butt ugly rims.

nah, always go with a drop first, no matter what rims you have. No stock rim looks worse than bling bling rims with 4" of nothing between them and the car...

Maybe pick up some red/clear tails and drop the altezzas j/p.. I would seriously consider getting a good suspension set up, springs/shocks struts.. The handling is increased dramatically, plus it will enhance the looks as well.. Save up for wheels for spring

but cutting coils is mad cool kyle! MAD COOL! anyway, lowering springs or cut springs put way too much stress on the stock struts so you need to change them at the same time/before springs, OR be prepared to blow one.

play nice

i had a stock ride on just rims 18x8 alt 159 rims. the ride was much better, but then i got bored of the rims and dropped the car 2 inches using kyb agx's and sprint lowering springs. i just threw the stock 5 spoke rims on and i have to say that it dont look half bad. if the rims were one size up id leave stocks on but there not, so im getting 2003 se rims. MORAL - drop is wht to go for. the car will have a better stance, appearence, and handle better. throw another 150 for a rear sway bar an ur set. good luck.. happy xmas..
blake

If i were you go with the wheels. It's harder to come by an expensive set of wheels than springs and shocks. The spring and shocks will run an insignificant $300-$500 compared to $1300-$2000.
The drop is essential for any combination of wheels but it will take a longer time to get to $2000(for rims) than $200 (for springs). It's just smarter to split the cost for rims.

Well thats because his dumb a$$ is the dink. When I said stock I meant kyb gr2's, something non adjustable. Kyb gr2's and some maxspeeds will give you a good drop. If you want a great drop then you should go with some coilovers which will cost you an arm and a leg for the same effect. I say go with the rims still because they cost more and you'll get more by splittin them then if you just got a drop as a gift. Plus 300 will give you a decent drop 150 for some springs and 150 for the install thats 300 considering you have decent struts.

Um, i think the guy who wanted to use stock struts with cheep cut springs is more of a dink than a guy who quotes a price wrong. lighten up people

If you're going to need new tires anytime soon. Get the rims. Otherwise you'll end up getting new tires for the suck *** rims you've got now knowing you want to replace them in the future. If you good a lot of tread left, i guess you should go for the drop.
