noises from engine..maybe belts?
noises from engine..maybe belts?
I have a 96 se 5speed with a frankencar intake and a budget ypipe with 98k miles.
I've noticed this noise coming from the left side of my engine bay getting louder as the days got colder over the last couple of weeks. It's coming from the left side where the belts are. Is this normal? Should I just change it(them?) or is there something I can do to make the noise go away? I am the second owner of the car and the belts have never been changed.
Even when the car is warmed up, it's pretty loud and can be heard from several feet standing distance. I first thought it was just from my frankencar intake but it's never been this loud before esspecially when the car is really warmed up.
Any info and advice is appreciated. Thanks in advance.

With that milage and the belts are orignal I'd replace the belts anyways. Even if its not the cause of your noise get them replaced. Don't want to be stranded if one of them brakes and the cold just makes them even more prone to breaking.
