If your serious, you are damn lucky James is selling his, otherwise like D-Sta said, you'd be SOL.

I believe they only did a special run of 5 or 10 hoods and are not running one offs on them, so basically either buy james or look at ebay carbon fiber sticker sheets

Actually, fellas, Seibon is willing to do a group buy on hoods, but they need to have at least 5 confirmed buyers. And they have told me via phone and email that they WILL beat FI's price hands down. I've mentioned this a couple times this summer, but I don't think anyone had the necessary money.

Did they give you a price range? I would probably be in for a group buy early next year or around spring.

Well, at the time, FI was offering the hood for $650 per. So this was what I presented to their sales person. With a link to FI to back it up, no less. They then said that they could "easily beat that price".

So, in terms of a price range, I can't really say. I guess I could call them back up and re-present the offer from the summer - see what they say. But to be honest, I'd almost feel like I'm spinning my wheels. But if you ask nicely, I'll do it...

I guess NOW I understand why so many people get frustrated when a few people get together to offer or have offered cool stuff for 3rd gens only to be by people that say "yeah, I'm in" only to NOT be in when the deal is ready to go down.

TET is probably going to be willing to do a GD on these, but serious people only. When these hoods come out I can guarantee they will be the best made and fitting, cause they are made by a Maxima owner that cares about quality work. They are going to be the lightest and strongest hoods, not sure about prices, but they should be competitive.

Yeah I know what you mean. I've lurked here for a few years before I joined and have seen this happen on many occasions. As for calling, if you have the time that would be awesome, but its not really necessary right now. But who knows, maybe more people would be interested in a buy since no one makes cf hoods anymore.

VERY enticing.... And with shipping being roughly in the $100 range (depending on where you live), that's still below what FI was charging.

Looks like I'm gonna have to sell my laptop after all...

$525.95 = :
$499.00 =

And why is it, on their site, the 89-94 CF hood is 40 lbs, while the 95-99 CF hood is only 12 lbs? Inquiring minds want to know!

woah, that is a big weight difference. what does the stock hood weight? I forgot how heavy they are, its been a good 3+ months since I did my V8 swap.

Also any future plans for a cardboard hood? I would love a CF, but I fall into that poor/broke college student category Best of luck with getting the group deal going

(oh yeah, someone really should buy James hood though, he was selling it first, its only fair )

Man I would love to jump all over this, I guess it just depends on when the deal is ready, wheather or not I will have the funds. Also, does anyone happen to have pics of a CF hood on a white car. I'm wondering if its going to look right on white. (Yeah, I'm a poet)

Dysfunctional has a white 91 SE with a CF hood. He was thinking of selling it at one point and I showed interest. When he showed me the pics I didn't like it but thats my taste so take a look for yourself.

Yeah. My spaghetti arms had trouble holding it up, so 40 pounds sounds about right.
