Texas holdem HHHHHHHHHEEELP

My service engine light just came on about a 1 month ago. It's NOT blinking, rather its just staying on steady. I have noticed NO mechanical problems or anything out of the ordinary. Hence, I'm assuming its an 02 sensor or something along that line. ANY SUGGESTIONS will be greatly appreciated. Especially if the suggestion are accompanied on how to replace/repair.

The light normally doesnt blink, it stays on like you described.

Before we can speculate whats the problem, you need to get the code pulled. Go to your local auto parts store that does this for free like Autozone. Then we can tell you what the problem is.

Speculating is the worst thing to do and then end up being a $1000+ repair bill.

the light will typically blink if you have a serious engine miss. the blinking means cat damage will occour if you continue to run the vehicle.

gas cap? maybe you left it loose. also could be an 02. appears to be common i guess.

blinking SES means misfire or perhaps some other serious problem... do not drive in this state. Get the code read ASAP... steady light could be something small... O2 sensor perhaps... ?

check & tighten the gas cap. Before you take it in the the Stealership. If you have your owners manual take a look in the troubleshooting page.

Hope its nothing serious.

Actually I entitled my post TEXAS HOLDEM to get people's attention, since my original post SERVICE ENGINE SOON didn't get very many replys.

Yup the gas cap, air cleaner element, etc. have all been checked.

I was hoping for some cheap advice, b/c I know it costs a lot of $ just to have the "Stealership" hook up the car.

HOWEVER I DID NOT KNOW places like Autozone, hook up your car to the dia. machine FOR FREE.

ThANKS well definitely check that one out.
