What size is preferibly better 17x7, 17x9, 17x10, keeping
WEll......
I recently went from a 17X8 up front on the COBRA to the popular 17X9. I had a 245/45/17 and now I have the 275/40/17s. Lets just say that with the extra grip and weigh and width, I now feel it necessary to upgrade to polyurethane bushings or a del-arm setup. (spherical greaseable bushing)
AS you know I went from a 15x6.5 to a 17X8 on the MAXIMA. and went fro a 205/65/15 to a 245/45/17. wow this thing bumpsteers like a "bbeeeotch". 17X8 is cool but going to back down to a 235/45/17 on the MAX and upgrade my COBRA front end even more than it already is.
so, having said that: 17X8 no more than a 17X9.
what are those stock tires sizes?
I got dibs on the purchase!!!!!! after all I fixed something that night in Russ's garage on your car. what was it? LOL

I'd go with 17X7...
17X7 with 235/45 Sumitomos. The 17X7s are gonna be lighter and are about 1.5" wider than the 215/60/15s. Remember this. All you're doing by adding wider tires is extending the contact patch, but you are making it narrower. The overall size of the contact patch is the same as stock, it's just gone from long to wide. No matter how wide of tires you put on the car, it still goona have the same contact patch area. Really wide tires and wheels aren't necessarily a good thing for a Maxima because the car is pretty light weight.
