Fuel economy

Question

According to a maintenance manual leak in a vacume hose in the emission system can cause surging in the engine when the throttle is held steady.

Can this also result in a loss of fuel economy?

I am experiencing these symptoms with MAX, loosing about $10 per tank of fuel

93 GXE, 100,000 miles, New 02 Senser, New Fuel filter, New tires, New Air Filter, Oil changed, New Spark Plugs, New Brakes.

Also I used the Bosch replacement 02 Senser rather than the NGK brand and the Bosch had a 3' long lead on it. the origional senser lead was much shorter, Could the longer lead be causing a problem?

Any help would be appreciated

Thanks

air in the system will make an issue with performance and probably gas. it's a vacuum for a reason.
