Paint Grill white for my Glacier Pearl?

Did a quick photochop edit of my car, "painting" my stock grill white. Anyone done this for real? I know some of you have painted it black, but I havent seen a white one. Here's my chop job, what do ya think? I dont think it looks bad... be a cheap, easy mod to do over break!

And for Comparisons sake:

Not bad. Just dont do something you will regret for the sake of modding.

Very true - figured I'd get some Org opinions, and maybe do a better chop job before I actually paint my grill. That first photo I did looks pretty decent IMO. Maybe I'll cover the grill with white something and see how that looks in real life too... be a decent indicator right right? Well just lemme knwo what ya'll think and post pics if any of you got some

Thumbs up in my opinion. Gives it a "limited edition" look. Very sleek.

I say go for it ! I dont know how well paint would take to the grille, but I'm sure with a good base/primer coat, it should stick really well.

I second Scopium's advice, you should go for the oem paint, so paint match isn't an issue. I've seen horror stories regarding paint matching and blending on more unique colors such as yours... It would suck to paint the grill, and the color isn't quite right...Then the obvious color disparity would be the FIRST place your attention would be drawn to.

I realize you want to do it yourself, but if you have any pals who have body shops, it would take less than half hour to have them prep and spray the grille, boom your done, you mount it right on.

I've definitely seen pix on here of a white painted grill on a white 5th gen. I've been considering doing this myself for a while now. The other choices are just no good IMO...JDM (dimples), Grille-tech (rust), Trenz ( ). My only concern was would I be able to make it look good myself or would I have to pay a body shop to paint it for me. But I love the way it looks.

I know that you know but you don't need the blessings of the org to do something you like, if you like it do it and don't worry about what we really think.

I like it and I think it helps to bring your car out, so if it's opinions you're asking for there it is, do it, it looks hott.

Personally I don't really like the white painted grille. I only think painted grilles look good on the darker colors...

I think you should paint the grill black. Then you can clearly see that the burger stands out and later you can go buy fries and a shake.

I've always wanted to paint mine black. Can anybody share their knowledge on how to paint it and what type/where can I get the paint to use. I have a black 2000 Max SE. The grill is really looking bad, as in it has some white shade on the gray grill. Please reply if you know how to do it. Thanks..

The only problem with painting it is the thing is going to eventually get rock chips and will look crappy after a few years.

IMO, I think painting it white is a great idea. From your photohop, it looks great. It would also be cool for you since you would be the firstone to piant your grille on a whte max. Good I don't have to paint mine!

He wouldn't be the first...several peeps have already done it. After seeing them, that's why I say it doesn't look good on white...

I like the look after seein it on the other car posted here. Might do it tomorrow in my spare time, we'll see. Or at least cover it with something white and see what that looks like. I think this will be my next little custom job on Max tho, definatly like the look on the pictures

I'd say do it and if you're really worried about rock chips, then get some clear bra material and cover it. I don't know how well it would work. If it were me, i'd just get an extra clear coat on top and if need be, repaint it down the road.
i think it'll look nice. i like how the pic of that other white one looked. i'm getting ready to paint mine black on my black '00. i say go for it.

if the pics are on a website, such as cardomain.com, then you just need to insert the link. if they are not uploaded to the web anywhere, you need to do that before they can be posted on the forum...
if you do have them up, just get the hyperlink to them, and then insert that'll take car of it
