Window Regulator broken

My Driver Side window started making a hideous noise last week. Dealer says its the 'window regulator', parts/service $210 (part has to be ordered). Anyone know what this is and if it is interchangable with other 5th gen maximas? Am tempted to do the work myself, but don't know if I can find the part anywhere.

Thanks for any help.

Trey

Its very easy to replace by your self if your somehow mechanically inclined.

But, are you still under warrenty? How many miles do you have on your car?

Out of warranty....have 50k on 2 year old vehicle. Still, this part should not have failed this quickly. I am mechanically inclined and will replace. Would like to get from salvage yard if possible.

Why don't you trying giving Nissan a Call 1-800-NISSAN-1 and tell them that you think it's Nissans responsibilty to fix it. They will help you out.

If not, Give Dave B a call at Nissan 1-888-254-6060 and he will get you a great price. Tell him Igor said Hi

Thanks Igor, I've e-mailed Dave already. I will also give Nissan a call, but I don't think they'll be all that receptive....I've called them about the hesitation issue 3 times already with still no resolution.

Well Nissan issed me $75 service credits about 3 times with my old car because it was out of warrenty. You should ask about those. Dave has accepted my $75 credits all 3 of those times.

Call them again and give it a shot
