Whut Now?

I just bought a 97 Max SE.The whole things stock, lemme know whut I should start doing to it.But remember,I'm only a 17 year old kid with limited cash.So help me start small and work my way up.I'm probably starting with the lighting: clear bumper lenses, clear headlights, independent fog lights.Buuuuut,I also have no idea where to buy stuff for my car.Nopi.com isn't that great, neither is Stillen.com...so someone lemme know where I can buy my parts.

ultimately, what do you want to do with your car ?

Do you want to build a show car or a race spec (kinda sorta)....

After plowing over 10 g's into the max, if I could start us out and over again, I would go ahead and buy the SC or Turbo .... but seeing as you're limited in dollah's ... go with the y pipe it's a mod you can really feel.... then of course b pipe and muffler or whatever setup you wanna do after y.

Exhaust system was one of our first mods and was one you'll enjoy if you want to feel something.

Clears were a thrill - first comestic mod ...

Anyways, decide what you want to do ... but don't do any of that slow and retarded bull teens are doing these days .... go with some class and style.. then you'll really stand out.

In regards to buying ... try www.cattman.com or www.southwestautoworks.com both places I highly recommend... they're cream of the crop on customer service and shipping time. Plus their prices are really good too.

Forget speed/performance mods, you already have more than anyone needs... 17 or anyone else for that matter (unless near a legal place to run it).
Police love to mess with the young and even one speeding ticket will start costing you bigtime insurance wise.
Go with the cosmetic stuff, or a nice sound system, and good luck with it.

whether you want your car to be performance or show, here are a few mods to start saving for that will be all around good.

cd player with some decent speakers (if doesnt come with stock cd player)

clear corners-$35
red/clear tails-read the how to and do it your self for $15 in parts
which ever intake you chose. i suggest ebay intake or hybrid pop.$100
budget y-pipe-$190

i think those are all good things for real cheap. the intake and y-pipe combo is a great way to gain power for $250. just buy a filter and go your own intake tube. you will find that if your not afraid to use tools, many expensive mods can be done by yourself for much less money and little bit of time.

happy modding

dont do anything leave it stock. if its a 5spd get used to drivin it first, even if its an auto learn how to drive it, then once u drive it enough, u'll kno exactly where u feel the car is lacking and u can tackle it from there.

Since you have a black Max:
Black Bumper Lights (eBay)
FSTB (eBay)
Clear out your stock tails http://www.vqpower.com/v2/modules.ph...howpage&pid=34
DNE tail light mod http://www.vqpower.com/v2/modules.ph...howpage&pid=66
AE headlights http://www.vqpower.com/v2/modules.ph...howpage&pid=52
Budget y-pipe
RSB

Why would you want to clear your headlights when they're already clear?

Well,I already got the system.I work at Best Buy so I got 2 Rockford HX2 12'' Subs in the trunk with a Pioneer 7600 deck (REEEEAL CHEAP).So wont need that.I'm goin' for performance, and not cheap, average teenager ****.Like real performance.I was thinkin' about the Greddy Cat back exhaust system. That an alright mod to start? Then I was goin' with an Injen Cold Air.So I'm not goin' for too much looks,I want it to stay stock looking, except the clear corners and minor things like that.I know I got a semi advantage over most kids with a 3.0L v6...but when you're drivin' with my boys, they got '03 Stang GTs,STi's,3000GTs,RX7s...so I need a step up.I know the cops are rough on kids drivin',that's why I dont want it to look like I have much.Plus with workin' at Best Buy,I get pretty nice radars for a pretty nice price.Alright, well I still need places on where to get this stuff for a decent price.Cattman.com I'm lookin' into.Thanks.

-Kyle

As for spellin' my "whuts" correctly,I got it down I think..Bryant College isn't gonna like it too much I know.

if u REALLY wanna run with those guys u would need some forced induction AND weight reduction, if u love the thump in the trunk thats fine, but expect to loose some speed bc of it

sounds like a straightline enthusiast w/ears.
be sure to upgrade your tires so u can put all that tq to the ground. While you're at it, upgrade your brake pads so u can safely stop too. I'd like to say tint your windows to make your ICE less visable, but that's up to you.

Invest in a driving school (that's what I'm saving up for). skills are transferable to your next car, which's pretty good return on investment. some of the skills you'll learn will be life-saving.

Good call...couldnt have said it better. Tires are the first mod anyone should do for performance (and looks). Not only do they provide safety, they will give you better traction on the startup, turns and during braking.

The second thing i would do is upgrade to Hawk HP pads up front...leave the rears stock becuase nissan OEM pads are actually really good. You may consider putting new rotors up front if yours have a lotta miles on them. Dont bother doing x-drilled or slotted becuase it doesnt do crap its just for looks.
