New Steering Wheel Trouble
New Steering Wheel Trouble
another member on the org sold me a wood/leather steering wheel from a japanese model I30, said it was the same year.
Went to install it, and the metal brackets and such that hold the wheel onto the car are totally different from the hardware on the stock wheel. there is nowhere for me to screw in the bracket for the cruise control assembly, and the airbag does not even fit into the new wheel properly (even though it looks the same as the stock wheel from the outside). the airbag barely has any "Spring" capability (for the horn), and its stuck too close into the wheel. if i merely touch the pad, the horn goes off and does not stop unless i pulll the battery and remove the fuse for the horn. right now my car is driving around with no horn. i will soon post pics to further illustrate my woes. any ideas of what i could do? I cant tighten the torx tamper=proof bits too tightly otherwise the airbag sits too far into the steering wheel.
