Leak from the rear (bottom) of my engine

Folks,

I ran over a f-ing muffler a month or so ago (it was foggy) and when I last changed my oil, I noticed a leak coming from the bottom rear of my engine. It's not oil, but is clear and comes down on the soft rubber tube running from the engine to the middle/center of the car. What is the rubber tube for? Would it be best if I enclosed a pic of the tube to give everyone a better visual? I'd like to do any preventative maint before it becomes really necessary. Thanks.

if its red its PS fluid, clear would be brake fluid, check all your levels and get the leak fixed....

There was a thread a while back on this mystery tube....as I recall it came from the tranny, but I will look around for the thread and post if I find it.

It may be from your air conditioner.

Seconded, your A/C still runs at all times in the winter if you are using the "auto" feature on your controls.
