Front Heated O2 Sensor Stuck, Tips?

I was outside in the freezing cold trying to remove my Right Front 02 Sensor, the thing is stuck. I tried starting the car for a minute or two as recommended by Haynes, but that didn't help. Am I missing something, I should be turning the sensor counterclockwise to remove it just like everything else correct? I am using the 02 Sensor Socket, did anyone use the offset one? Thanks!

First off, double check that you're turning it the right way (counterclockwise). Prior to trying to break the O2 sensor loose, spray sensor to y-pipe mating surface with some good penetrating oil and use a rubber mallet and gently tip the y-pipe to make vibration which will help work the oil into the threads. Spray the surface again and do a little more tapping. Now try and bust that sucker loose. I definately suggest having the pipes cold or slighly warm. If the sensor is old, or it's the OEM y-pipe, or if you live an area with salft covered streets, then the leverage of standard ratchet might not won't work. Either get a 18" breaker bar or slide a piece of pipe over the rachet handle to generate more leverage. I suggest the breaker bar because there could be a potential issue with breaking the rachet because too much torque could be displaced on the rachet mechanism.

Thanks Dave! I'll give it a shot once I warm up. I was getting desperate so I just wanted to double check the counterclockwise motion in case Nissan for some reason reversed it or something, the cold was getting to me. Thanks again.

Things I used:
1.) PB Blaster
2.) 3/4" "Stubby" Ratchet
3.) O2 Sensor Socket

Worked great!

when i tried to take the factory one off mines with to much force.. it ate up the threads. luckkily it was the stock pipe and not my stillen. be careful. make sure u have enough roomunder the car to getsome good leverage and your turning the sensor the right way and at the right angle long with the threads. also doit when the engine is cold.. heat expands stuff and just makes it harder to turn.

Got it finished, the PB Blaster worked perfectly. Sprayed a little on, tapped it a little with a rachet, sprayed, then tapped again and left it there for a little while. Then with a little force the sensor finally started moving. Thanks for the tips everyone!
