I sure as hell don't have 4 Benjamins for a radar detector, just think of what else I could get with that much $.

I know you peeps all want one.

I've been trying to look into it, but I guess I'm looking in the wrong places. Plus I'm not assertive enough to take charge of the deal.

OR if this isn't possible, what about Escort?

All the rest are cheap trash. I have a whistler now and that thing is horrible. It goes off for everything but radar.

Others have tried to do group deals with Valentine, but all have failed. Cause he's the only one that sells them, so he controls the market with them. There is no competition between vendors so he can get the price that he names.

Your best bet would be to try another radar detector like the new Passport, which is supposed to be as good or better than the Valentine1.

I personally have BELL 985 or something like that...I love it. My friend got Valentines 1 and I have to say that Valentines 1 is a good radar, but it doesn't have some of the feautures like Automute, and signal indicators dots are too small and too close to each other, that you can hardly see whether its KA or K or X that is going off...On the other hand, BELL got automute, very loud, got this stripe that increases and descreases, depends how far away the cop is and and got big KA or K or ( X that u can turn off ) and can see all these signals with no probs. Maybe Bell radius is little less off but other then that, its great!!! It even shows the voltage in your battery and once its slow, it starts to beap and flash "Low voltage". Saved me from many tickets..

From the tests I've read, the Bel 980 is a better detector, less false alarms, etc. Best of all, you can get one for $215. I'm planning on getting one next week.

Maybe I'll just get a Bel

I was under the impression Valentine1 was the best.

I like the way it points where the cops are, behind you, in front, sides or all. Thats kinda awesome.

Thanks, I've been looking online and everyone has it for the same price, some people are even paying more for it on ebay. This place give free ground shipping, that saves me a few bucks.

Thanks again mbcp_tdogg

I know mine was around $299 plus tax. But I didn't pay anything...I actually had Bell before, looks the same but lower model, less features. So what I did is, went to a local store, bought this top of the line Bel radar, took them both apart, exchanged the guts, returned it and got my money back....me bad...

All my friends liked that idea and especially my new radar, so all of them, bought a lower model Bel radar off ebay, for like 20-50$, and then did the same thing I did....All these russians hehe..

I emailed mike V about that test. the guy that did the tset is the same guy that did early tests. If you look at mikes site, he's addressed all of those issues already.

I should find that email I have an post it on here sunday.

Wow! Strong rebuttal!

on that note, does anyone have a more fair review of radar detectors? especially one that pits the v1 against the passport?

I love my V1

I have had my Valentine for two years now and still love it. Check out the link above for the rebuttal to the accusations . They are hard to argue with. Valentine will not budge on their price or sell to dealers EVER. They are not only selfish...but very smart!!
