couple complaints about maxima remote entry... confirm with me please...

1. the remote won't lock the car if all 4 doors aren't shut all the way
2. no alarm beep, must custom built
3. the panic system is just some horn alert, my mom's 1992 mercury villager van has better panic sound than my maxima
4. the dome light button serves no function to me

anyone wanna add?

1. the remote won't lock the car if all 4 doors aren't shut all the way
///TRUE.
2. no alarm beep, must custom built
///TRUE, But easy to do
3. the panic system is just some horn alert, my mom's 1992 mercury villager van has better panic sound than my maxima
///Very Possible
4. the dome light button serves no function to me
///Not sure what you mean, probly because it serves no function.

Easy Fix for most of these problems???
YES.
I'm eventually getting a new alarm system because I want the 2-way LCD Pager.

The only thing I hate about my maxima right now is the Shi..."Very Bad" gas mileage I've been getting in this cold weather with my CAI.

i don't think these problems are that bad, i really like the extra features like the roll down the windows feature you would never guess would be there

Try the holding it to your chin method for longer distance makes the body act as an antenna

I have an aftermarket viper alarm, is there a way I could program it to make the windows roll down like the stock alarm.

I hope I'm not going to have to buy a module to get the windows down

It should not be. First click open the driver's door, second click open everything else. I suspected that the battery in your remote is running out of juice.

You remote's battery is definitely running low. I tried many times from my friends patio (18th floor) to open and shut the doors of my MAx that was sitting in the parking lot - worked everytime.

hahah, yea if I didn't know it had remote-roll down i'd be freakin out. I think they should have put a feature on there to roll them back up. I had some girl at work I told about my windows rolling down on the remote, steal my keys and roll them down... while it was raining pretty hard.. had to leave a customer standing at my register in the middle of a transaction to roll them back up.. the customer wasnt too thrilled, and neither was I

95-96 have a dome-light button, while 97-99s have a trunk release button . .. . I think. I do not have the dome-light button.

95-96 also have a trunk release button and a dome light button. I use the dome button when I'm bored at work. I love watchin people walk by and I turn the light on and off when they're walking past...then when they walk closer, I set the panic alarm off. OHH it's sooo much fun. At least it will be until someone gets ****ed and comes back with a brick.

95-96s have a dome light button, but the 97-99s have a panic button (both remotes have trunk release button). On the 95-96 remote, the lock button and the panic button are the same (you press once to lock or you hold it down for panic mode). I have both of the remotes since the eBay ones I bought were 97-99 and my car came with the 95-96

1) is it really that often that you lock your doors/leave your car with one or more of your doors open?

2) I prefer a stealth arming myself. I don't even really care for the lights blinking, though I'm not going to change it. I can hear the locks click and I don't need to announce to other people that I'm locking my doors.

3) Yeah, I agree here, but what do you expect? I don't think the traditional x-cycle car alarm noise is going to be any more theft-deterrent. It's better than nothing I guess.

4) I don't understand the dome light button either for my uses.

I have quite a bit of range on mine, though the battery may be getting weaker just recently. I can still get it from a good distance and hit the panic mode if I forget where I parked at the movies or something of that sort.

If I leave my keys in my pocket, I'll set it off sometimes when I park outside and not in my garage, if I lean on the lock button or something. User error there though
