doesnt wanna go over 3000 rpm ?

Since getting my new catback (2.25") two days ago...i been noticing my car's not been wanting to go upto 3000rpm as readily as it was doing with my leaking catback with two 6 inch gashes. Is it the new catback or the -10F weather for the past two days?

i am kinda leaning towards the o2 sensor too...but for the catback install..they didnt even touch the o2 sensor. that i know for sure.

how long does the ECU take to adjust?

Shouldn't take that long at all. If anything, just disconnect the battery overnight, reconnect it, and that should reset your ECU.

Now, are the RPMs not going past 3k all the time, or intermittently? Reason I was asking, was because I had that happen to me, and it turned out to be a faulty MAF unit.

oh yeah it ultimately does get upto 3000rpm and past it...but its just taking longer to get there ....and seems to not want to. the car feels heavier sorta. tire pressure is correct too.

I looked at the air filter and it was full of crap so i had been thinking it was that causing the problem. But i got a new air filter from Nissan today and that didnt fix it at all.

mine did the same thing when in the process of doing my timing belt I left off the plug to the maf when I took it off to get the lower radiator hose off. It went into a "safe" mode.

well this is the latest...

before warming up completely, it accelerates real nice...but after about 10 minutes of driving...there is a noticeable decrease in torque.

i know there was a thread about a similar problem some time ago...but i cant find it. did someone find the cause of this issue with their maximas?

Try a 470ohm or 550kohm resister installed in the ks connector harness. Easy to do and cheap to buy. Also clean off the red coolant connector

i do have the factory service manual...it shows a detonation sensor , i am guessing that is the knock sensor? thats the one on rear engine bank above the manifold according to the manual
