i know some one in the fourth gen forum installed the jim wolf cams in their max but since the search is down i couldnt look it up. Anyone have installed or dynoed these? They sure are expensive and for 1k i hope they give good gains. Since this isnt really an exhaust mod will it give better low end torque and accelaration?

 

the guy who installed them with headers is called ironlung, its not that far into the 4 gen area, won't take to long to find

his car sounds niiiiiiice. love the throaty V8 when the car idles.

 

I was there with him the day he fired that bad boy up, It sounds real sweet in person with his catback hooked up as well.

2nd one is LOPING...haha...never thought I'd hear a Maxima lope like that.

He does all the installs himself.

 

I liked the lope, but I think he needs to raise the idle a little.

Kept sounding like she wanted to die.

 

Matt does all of his own installs and all of ours. He could raise the idle a bit, but he really likes the sound as do I.

 

would these work on the 00 and up. It didn't say anything except to also run with the JWT ECU which isn't made for 00-up.

Yeah, it sounds good when it idles, but the rest sounds like ***. Why would you want your car to sound like that? The loping...good...the rest...BAD

 

He doesn't plan on keeping it like that. He did it to make videos so you guys can see what it sounds like with cams and open headers.

i believe the 95-01 share the same engine internals. the jwt website lists ONE set of cams for the vq30de only:

S1 VQ30DE BILLET CAM SET 256 DEG .415" GROSS LIFT. LASH .013" COLD .016" HOT SLIGHT LOPE AT IDLE (TARGET IDLE SHOULD BE 900RPM). RUNS...

Only difference between the vq30de and vq30de-k should be slighty different timing, but i'm fairly sure cams would work

2k2-2k3 vq35de guys have their own set of cams from jwt and also from nismo (350z)
