15.047 @92.17mph!?

I ran this tonight and was wondering if it is a good time or not. I know my 60ft time sucks but its because of my 19's with old shocks and no drop(coming soon).

I have a 97SE 5spd, CAI,Y-pipe,Hi-flow Cat,Apexi WS Cat-back,UDP.

15.047s @ 92.17mph
60ft - 2.478s
330ft - 6.517s
1/8m - 9.833s @ 74.15mph
1000ft - 12.666s

Running with spare, 1/4 tank of gas , 40psi front and rear in my 19's, 91 octane

I hope when I lower my car it will do better off the line. I am also expecting my technosquare ecu in the mail tomorrow. What would you guys think my times will now be?

Those 19's are killing you unless they are somewhat lightweight.

Yeah...19s HAVE to be killing you. Your 60ft needs working on too. I got a 2.29 60' and hit 14.9. I only have intake mods right now and a testpipe.

Have you dyno'd your car?

When you run again...put your stock rims on if you have them. Man if I had the same mods as you w/out 19s I'd be running 14.6s all day.

Yeah if I couold get some control on my wheel hop starts I could easily run a 14.8 I also live in 1000ft altitude which would be a 14.7 according to NHRA correction factors. So I dont really think the wheels are hurting me except for launching. Do you guys think putting KYB AGX's and progress springs all around will help me with this or do I have to get new motor mounts. Hopefully my geforce ecu gets here today. That 15.0 should easily be a 14.7 with bad driving. Im hoping that I can run a 14.5 after new suspension, ecu, short shifter all the while riding on nice looking 19's.

Im also going to take out my spare and jack later today and put my front psi down to about 32 and put the back at 45 or so. This should probably help me out too. I ran the psi at 40 FR/RR yesterday which could be some of the reason for all the wheel hop.

Your wheels are killing you. Short sidewalls = crappy launches. Also, the 19s surely weigh, they have significantly more inertial weight, plus they're wider so they create more drag. The 19s alone could be sucking out .2 and almost 2mph alone. I've made runs on my 17" combo which weigh as much as my stock 15" combo. On the same day at the track, the 17s we slowing me done .1 and 1mph on average with the same 60 foots compared to just running my 15s on the front. Now your 19s are 2" larger, heavier, and have significantly less sidewall. When you go to the track, run your stock rims.

As for your 60', it too is killing you. You're damn close to a 2.5 60' which is about what a Kia could do (no joke here). You need to learn to go easy on the launch. Simply get the car rolling and feed it gas. That alone will get you in the low 2.3 60 foots which is just "okay" for FWD. Remember, every .1 you shed in 60', you'll dump nearly .2 on the far end. You could be running 14.6@94-95 if you were to dump the front 19s and launch better.

So if I were to get a 2.3 60 ft time I would have a 14.6-14.7 with my 19's on. This is pretty good still isnt it. I still have my 16" wheels but I love the look of my 19's. Im hoping for 14.4-14.5 with geforce ecu, short shifter, and suspension drop. Does this sound probable with my 19's. At least I will be able to take out almost every honda.

if your trapping 93-94 you are losing the time somewhere else. either in the 60' or in shifts.

take for example my VR4 when it was stock. before i learned how to launch the car i was getting 2.1-2.2 60' times and would run a 14.2@99.
learned how to launch....1.91 60' translated into a 13.72@99 in the 1/4

my moms max....2.5 60' 15.3@94 in the 1/4
my max 2.3 60' 15.3@92 in the 1/4

same time but the silver 1 had more MPH. the only difference between the 2 is mine has the bose. both are 00 5 speeds on 17s. if i had run them on the same track and same night mine would be in the 14s. (the track i ran on is known for being .5 slow)

sorry for getting carried away. LOL

Do What I Do When I Go To The Track Bring Two Stock Rims 15 Or 16 And Put Them On Just To Get A Good Time Then Put Them Back On When Its Time To Leave.. Put Them On The Front Only
And See If Theres Any Difference...
