Getting Supercharger, I need suggestions and comments.

Hey guys, i' wanna get a Stillen Super charger. But the questions I have for you SC maxima onwers would be is it worth getting it on a daily driven maxima? I drive to work and back everyday. If i super charge it, would driving the car daily hamper the Super charger? I need honest suggestions from you guys. ALso would my stock tranny need to be upgraded if I get the car supercharged? Would the tranny slip at some point? You guys had any problems engine and tranny wise after upgrading to a Super charger? Please let me know.

Thanks

If it is a daily driven car then there is NO POINT of installing a SC. Do yourself a favor and stay away from it.

Did you have problems with your kit? From what i've heard if your big on maintenance it shouldn't be a problem for a daily driven car. But of course w/ Boost your increasing the risk factor. "Gotta pay to play"

If you get a kit thats complete and not hacked up you should be just fine. I traveled in my SCed max from atl to New Orleans two times. No problems what so ever. I also drove to NC and even went to the track out there. Ensure you have all the bolts and the proper fitting stand off bolts along with some metal pullies and you should be just fine.

Mardigrasmax also drove from New Orleans to New York and back. He also drove from NO to Maryland where he currently resides. Thats two proven kits w/no problem what so ever.

He was asking if its smart to put a SC on a daily driven car so I just answered. When boosting there would be times when your car will be down and you would need ride. For me I drive 40mi one way mon through fri so boost was not working out.

But cant live without it for long....

I drive my car everyday and I have no problems with it. The only problem is you have check your baby all the time, monitor her and she will treat you fine. Its like a chick, u have to waste a lot of money and time to make sure she runs great...

I drove it daily, boosted it daily and had couple long trips. no major problem (after my belt alignment is corrected) and stillen SC is pretty daily-driving friendly. after you put on an SC...first thing you have to make sure that your belt alignment is correct. bad alignment will eat a belt every week.

stock auto tranny will not hold, I repeat, will not hold.

oh, btw....my SC is still for sale. check out my sig

that's true. Having an SC does not mean you have to launch at every stop light on the way to work or take all gears to redline. But I did drive it hard. I saw my EGT hit 800C couple times a day.

Mardigras drove his everyday and now so does Requin..... No issues so far so why is a SC'd car a problem?

There is nothing wrong w/ having an SC'ed Max as a daily driver. If you don't get on it, it's as if the SC is not there. The point of having a second car for when you are 'operating' on your Max is a good point though. But that goes for boosted or not boosted really.

Maxi, why are you selling everything?

Get a second car, it will save you a lot of anxiety. If you ever need to service your car you will not be stressing about getting it done because you have to drive it the next day.

As for the tranny don't worry about that. Just blow it up and replace it with a stronger one.

Here is a thread where I asked the same question

If you get the kit put it on and make sure everything is kewl, and do not change the kit it will be fine.
