Going for my first smog test since SC install (S. Cal.)

I have March tags and before I installed my SC in Jan of 02, I did my smog for March 02 early (before the SC install) 'just in case'. So now for my March 04 smog, I am a little worried. Do I need to be concerned about anything? I should be fine with the visual, correct? (Since the SC is carb-approved). Are there any increased emmisions due to the SC? I think the only other thing that could get me is the Y-pipe. Should I put the stock Y back on? How have you SCed California guys made out? Thanks in advance guys.

I say better safe than sorry... If your emissions are very high (such as a failing primary cat), you will get hit with Gross Polluter which stays on the cars DMV record plus you get the honor of going to a test only site... don't bother asking how i know

Why not by-pass the SC by putting the stock belt back on. Then you've got stock power and a stock fuel curve...should pass easy, no?

Best part of upstate NY...no emissions testing.

or we can disconnect the vacuum hose to the FMU and disconnect the inline fuel pump as well hopefully they wont take your car to redline. I heard that they take the sample at 2500rpm @ 4th.

good luck~

and being in Cali sucks.

Your Y-Pipe (without the precats)... put the stock one back on (my suggestion).

don't forget, your pre-cats only help until the main cat is up to operating temperature.

Once your main cat is up to temp, say after driving around for 10 minutes, it will clean the exhaust just fine.

basically, don't go to the smog test with a cold engine...

I wish. Those are extinct. I haven't seen those in at least 4-5 years.
