Heater control valve..
Heater control valve..
Hi. I'm trying to figure out if my heater control valve is stuck. It's cold here right now (below 0 celsius day and night). The arm on the valve is all the way to the left (passenger side) no matter what temperature I have the auto climate control at (all changing the temp does is reduce the fan speed). When I shut the car off (so there's no vacuum) it stays far left. Is this normal? When it's warmer out, (or if I run the A/C) does the system then attempt to close the valve so no heat enters the car?
Thanks.
Thanks.
Normally, the valve by default is set to supply heat. One way to check is just put your hand on the hoses on both sides of the valve. They should both be hot. The other way you could check is to put a small vacuum line on the valve port and get a vacuum tester. Or if your up to it suck on the hose and see if it moves.
Lose heat at idle
I recently removed and replaced my rear exhaust manifold and knocked of the hoses off the control valve. Does the check valve go on the aft hole? Why is my heat quitting at idle? If I rev it up in neutral heat comes back. Works great while I'm on the highway whats up?????????????
