white-face gauges for us GXE/GLE owners...

E-bay currently has some white-face gauges on sale and they look just as good as the OEM ones. Is anyone gonna buy them? What do you think? here's the link..........

These are nice, but they are "overlays", meaning most probably the needles need removed to install them. Just something to consider, because you may run into trouble if the needles get mis-calibrated.

Indiglos fit over the stock guages by feeding the needle thru the center hole. So, no, indiglos are not overlays (per se).

I used real white faced OEM gauges. I will search tomorrow when the server is in better shape and post a link to how it went for me.

I woudl recommend doing it that way- looks better, and works w/ no problems. For this, you really cannot beat Nissan engineering...

EDIT:

Here is the link to compatibility of the face swap, and links to problems that I encountered and how i fixed them:

Yes, indiglos are overlays. They "lay over" the stock guage face, which remains in place.

I dont like them because the hole in the middle has to be large enough to fit over the needle. This means you can see some black around the needle when they are in. Personally, I think that looks like crap.

I'm installing some OEM white gauge faces this weekend, I'll post if there are any serious issues...

Ben, did you see my post about drilling out the SE faces to fit the screw holes on the GXE cluster?

Yeah, I did. That cured all your needle sticking problems, right?

I'm only swapping the faces, not the gauges. That means I'll have to drill holes in all four guage faces. I'm going to paint the screw heads white so they dont stick out, and the needles red so they do.

I have reverse indiglos from ebay installed and you can see NO black around the needles at all. All my needles are still callibrated, I had no issues. When I learn how to post pictures I will show all.

Ben-

Looks good. Well, actually it looks stock, which is what I am sure that yuo were going for to begin with. Did you use sharpie to paint your needles? My WFGs look just like yours, BUT the needles are white w/ black.

What brand are your red 194s? I used the autozone/advance aute cheapie specials. They have held up for over a year w/ no noticable fading.

I scraped the white paint off the back of the needles and repainted them red.

My bulbs are Autozone cheapos and have lasted for about 3.5 years with no fading or anything.
