More possible good news for those needing Technosquare ECUs for 98+...

See below my orig convo with Danny Lee of Technosquare and what we recently discussed. Note that there is no official date of release; the website lists "coming soon", but we need to occassionally inquire so that we can keep abreast of the situation and keep him aware that there IS interest in the product that is worth meeting SOON...
Keep your fingers crossed...

We are still working on the program for it. Yes the rev limiter can be raise and speed limiter will be removed, in addition to fuel and timing optimization.

Danny.

Hello again. Several of my colleagues have inquired about progress on the ECU for the 1999 A31 Maxima (models equipped with advanced OBD-II and NVIS). Do you have an anticipated date for the release of the product? Also, would you be able to implement features such as a removed stock speed limiter and an increased engine rev limiter? Please advise. Again as always, should you require any assistance, please advise so that I may render it.

We have just recently downloaded the data for 99-01 maxima. We have not done any type of testing on it yet. But we are expecting similar results as the 02+ Maximas.

Do you re-program ECUs for 1999 Maximas equipped with NVIS? If so, are the performance gains on par with those to be found for earlier model years? I am told there has been a bit of problem gaining resources for research and development along with guaging demand for the product, which should suit 1999, 2000, 2001, and 2002 Maximas. If you need assistance in these areas, please contact me.

omg, thats gotta be the best news ive ever heard regarding anything maxima related. Wow, im definately interested in this. I know it wont be for some time. But i also know its not gauranteed. But i will start saving now anyways. Perhaps MEVI/ECU is possible for 99s after all!

FYI, the 4th Gen is the A32, not the A31.

One question though...would 98 be included with this new ECU being developed or is not going to work. I know the 95-96 will work but with the CEL on and I don't want that. Thats why I have been waiting for something like this (which I figured eventually would). This, along with projectors are the last 2 mods I have been waiting for.

Just sent them an email, everyone should. We need an ECU with an extended rev limiter, like the JWT for the 1995-1999 Maxima's!

Isn't Technosquare in the process of making ECU's for the 95-96, and 97-98 with the extended rev limiter? I remember someone sent in their ECU to them so they could crack it. Deezo?

Thanks to mz for the correct... I was kinda tired and completely forgot...

But definitely call and e-mail when you can. They've gotta know the demand is there. They know enough to begin development for the project; now they need to know that enough demand exists for them to come with a low introductory price and get the product to market quick...

They aren't discriminating, its just that the 98 and 99 ECU's are a different animal all together.

I'm waiting and waiting for a 99 ECU. I'd love one that can take advantage of larger injectors and maybe a Z32 maf like JWT can do. That with a higher rev-limiter would rock!

I was wondering the same thing. Will this new ECU be able to give the same type of benifits to the 98 model as the 99-01 models?

I'm anxious as well. I'd like to know if they have alternative fuel and MAF programs as well... ie JWT.

All you people with a 98 or older... quit your whining and go buy a JWT. Sure a CEL may not be the best thing in the world, but it's better than NOTHING, which is what we 99's have available to us.

Do you know why the CEL comes on, and does Techno make one or is JWT the only company for the '98's?

here's the email i sent him:
Hey Technosquare,
My name is Will and i'm the owner of a 98 5-speed maxima and i've been waiting for a very long time to get an ecu for my ride to go with my other mods i've done. I know so far that nobody makes an ecu for my year but i was reading a post on maxima.org http://forums.maxima.org/showthread.php?t=283572 about how your planning on making and ecu for the 99-200+ model years and some people who were planning on setting up a group deal to buy these from you. My question is that since i have a 98 i'm wondering if you are planning on making on for my car anytime soon. Also if you dont make one for may car would the 99+ ecu's work in my year car without giving me a check engine light. Me and many others on my forum have been waiting a while on a ecu for the 98's and i hope that your able to make one for us. Ohh one more thing, would the ecu's for the 98's (thats if you make one) have the raised rev and removed speed limiter along with the other goodies that are on a reprogrammed ecu? Well im sorry to bother you with my questions and im sure that you get many of these a day so if you get a chance reply and i could tell the others on my forum about wat ever you tell me.
Thanks,
Will

and here's his response:

We are working on the 2000+ Maxima, which I don't think are the same as 98-99 models. We have looked at the 97-98 models and could not do anything with the ECU. We will probably not come out with an ECU upgrade for the 97-98 (maybe 99) models. Sorry.

Danny.

i just thought u guys would wanna see it
