How do I install a dead pedal?... I have a Nokyo dead pedal, and I don't know how to install it because where the dead pedal would install, its curved, and I don't know how to have it stay in place. I've seen some people on cardomain.com with dead pedals...

Should I bend the pedal to match it with the curve on the footrest?

ummmm, we already have a dead pedal.. that's what the footrest is.

 

just rip off the old one and screw in teh new one. or just screw in the new one over the old one.

I used to have Nokya pedals on my old car. now there in a box somewhere.

 

I found this picture, you can see the dead pedal in the lower left and kind of see the brake pedal.



my old car was an auto, I was thinking about cutting the brake pedal in half and putting it on my 5spd but decided not to.

 

Yeah... I don't know how to screw it in... Since its at a curve, I'm confused....

 

I installed my Nokyo dead pedal by heating it up and then bending it slightly at the point that the curve occurs the most at the stock location. It seemed to have worked, since it stays perfectly fine where it's at right now and I don't believe there's any significant gaps behind the pedal.

While I did heat it up, I'm not sure if it's absolutely necessary if you have something like a vice on hand. Since I didn't have many things at hand and I wanted to get it installed before the sun was completely gone that night, I just held it with a paper towel over a flame from my stove until I couldn't stand the heat. I'm not sure if this even made it more pliable, but I'm sure a heat gun would work much more effectively.
