what should i do?

my pops just bought a 97 max SE, 91k miles its dark green beige leather int. exactly fully loaded like my gle. Since he does constuction and gets dirty, He still likes mine better (97 gle dark blue blk int. 96k miles) both our cars are stock ( i just did minor things like, replaced alternator, struts, gauges added a spoiler and changed bumper lights etc.) and i drove his and fell in love lol I. Its alot faster than mine (strange), i like how it handles too, the light int. is a change which i didnt mind, and since we both like each other's car should we swap?

SE has a "sportier" suspention compared to GLE. THe Knock Sensor is most likly dead on your car so the 97 is faster.

Dead knock sensor = higher resistance, which tells the motor to retard the Ignition Timing.

Also personally I'd probably keep your car only because Blue/Black Leather is my favorite combo.
Also his car could just feel faster because of the suspension.

You keep SE, you get het fogs and all. GLE for your dad. check for CEL codes even if they are not on.
