Cat left some nice scratches on my hood

Just like the title says..I was replacing my wipers when I noticed quite a few scratches on the center of my hood, about the circumference of a CD...about 5-6 paw steps down, a few more scratches...NOT HAPPY..

Anyways, I don't think it's too bad; I see white so I believe that's the primer??

I plan on bringing my Max in for a respray during the summer holiday but would it be worth it to just fix up the area (IE: touch up, wax/buff)? My car's quite dirty but it's quite noticeable..

Ohhhh, and wait..a double whammy if you guys don't mind..I have a few cevices/areas on my Max where wax dried up...any ideas on how to remove them?

Thanks

When my dog scratched my car I was told to get some scratch-x, but I havent't had the opportunity to buy it yet.

GS 27 worked well for me. Doesn't work w/ deep scratches.

Scratch-X and other similar products work pretty on surface scratchs, but if the scratches are deep then touch up may be necessary. I haven't had much luck with touch up on scratched, tho. Maybe professional detail or repaint may be only option. Good luck.

I thought I had some Scratch-X in my car care box, but it was Plastix. Good thing a friend had a tube when he came by to wash his car.

It removed most of visible scratches, although at certain angles under sunlight, I do see it. Still an improvement though.

Thanks guys.

Now, how would I go about removing that stubborn dried up wax?

I recommend Meguiars swirl remover that really blends the scratch in alot, you will not be able to see the white of the scratch

Not so fast. You need to find the depth of a scratch before you take any action. If you run you fingernail across the scratch, it will determine the depth. If your nail gets caught on the scratch, the scratch is too deep for polishing out. Judging by the effect of the Scratch-X on this situation, the scratch may not have been deep.
