370 installed yay... few questions
hi all
after a maraton 8 hours of lagstall i got my injectors in.
two things i noticed. i think the ijectors pulsing slick is louder, is that suppose to happen????
i got fuel pressure set at around 27 psi+/-
3:1 fuel disk.
and when im driving and when i begin to get into boost the fuel pressure drops slightly. 1-2 psi then it starts rising. im still a little edge to go WOT right now but i did see the fuel pressure go up to around 40 at i think .4X bar it may have been more. is that normal??
thanks
Frank

What range plugs and what are they gapped at also what are the egt's. Sometimes misfire at higher rpm due to incorrectly gapped plugs will feel like detonation. Just some thoughts.

i tried running an new accord on saturday night after the install and i was detonating the same if not worse with the 370 cc. when i looked at the EGT at the top of 4th i saw 1450F when i was auto my egt never went above 1380F.
i ended up installing my SAFC on sunday.
and i just dyno tuned well a few hours ago.
it was wierd i was still lean up top.
the first run showed a 15.2:1 A/f ratio.
for some reason the afc was not responding when we tried adding fuel. but worked great with taking fuel away. so what church(dyno guy) did was richen up the fuel system with the fpr and leaned eveything out with the SAFC. my a/f is around 12.5 church is gonna send the dynos to me tomorrow he had a problem with his printer.
in the 1.5 hours i was there he ran my car a bunch of times.
3 run into accually tuning i got a run for 310 hp. but this is while my motor/blower was cool. air temp sensor read around 62 degrees. A/f was still high i think in the high 14:1 range.
i ended up getting consistant 280hp numbers throughout the rest of the session. air temp sensor reading were like 125 degrees. so mayb the heat was making my numbers drop.
the last run i did i held my VI open and pulled a 308. with a 12x degrees intake temp reading. all this was from my memory and i will not be able to see what happened until i get my e-mails tomorrow morning.
important thing is im not detonating any more.
hahahaahah i think i have the strangest set up.
370cc injector
3:1 fuel disk.
base fuel pressure is set at like 54 psi
and Safc is leaning everything out. i wonder how rough it will be when i go to start my car in the morning.
oh well we will see what happens.

hmmm....I thought SAFC should be used to lean out AFR curve but not enrich it. You couldnt enrich the AFR because your MAF reading is maxxed already and probably your injectors hit close to 100% duty cycle around there. Stephen Max saw a 90% d.c. on his 370cc during a WOT run.

if you dont lean out the AFR with S-AFC....what AFR do you get?

but right now i am staying in the 12.5 range +/_ a few all the way to the top so im happy for now. i have a little drivability problems once in a while from it being so rich down low. in traffic going into secound from a roll or at low RPM ny car will bog down for a little.
Just as a side note...when you start/continue detonating, your EGT will actually start to read lower b/c the piston/combustion chamber is taking serious damage from the heat (which is not properly being scavanged out the exhaust ports towards the EGT sensor). That's why rings/pistons melt/break under detonation while boosting (well, that's one reason they break/melt).

yeah that was the 3rd run into tunning so i was still lean up top. my eyes just poped wide open when i saw the 310 on the monitor. on that run i remmber it going from ~12:1 and going up all the way to around ~14:1 area. i am broke right now i have to pay off my injectors. company is deducting each check. for a injector.

company's deducting each check for an injector? what does your company do? I wish my company can do that so I dont have to pay interest over credit card

what church did was he leaned everything out with the Safc. i guess on the low settings. he was pressing bottons so fast i didn't even know what was going on. ill look at the setting later.
like in the 9-11 maybe less maybe more i can't remmber.

you are in good shape then. 9:1 - 11:1 AFR is perfect. just lean out a little with your S-AFC. perfect AFR for us is 11.5 : 1 according to mardi and kevin.
if you are bogging at low end, lower your basefuel pressure with your FPR. but you will end up running lean at top end. you still need a higher ratio FMU.
good job~ I wish I had aftermarket injectors to solve my lean problem.
