need some opinions, guys...

As you can see from my sig, I have a Crimson Blaze Maxima. I am wondering if I should paint my calipers, and if so, what color. Please post any comments (negative or positive) that would help my decision.
Thanks...and don't forget to vote!

any reasons why you voted what you did? Give me some feedback on why you want me to go with the colors you voted for.

any new votes?

i dont think that if you paint your calipers you would
be able to notice them your car stands out to much unless you go crazy with blue, yellow, pink JK

Forget painting and get some stoptechs. They'll match the color the car.

red.....a lot of people will think you have a BBK. went to a max meet a few weeks ago with my red calipers, and everyone thought i had a BBK. and plus they just look hella nice IMO. (i only did the front 2)

Thanks, guys, keep the comments coming.

Formz=I don't want to put new calipers on there, I am just talking about some cheap, but effective, ceramic paint. Like $5.00 at Autozone or Walmart.

PK (you don't happen to play Phantasy Star Online, do you? ha ha....Player Kill), That is what I was thinking about with the calipers...looks like BBK.

vsamoylov....good idea about the black...I didn't think of that, and I am a huge Porsche fan. (esp. the 911 Turbos). I am now considering the black a little more. Will it show up though? I don't plan on changing out my wheels...keeping them as they are.

The only time I don't like caliper paint is when it's REALLY shiny. I've seen some yellow that's just blinding.

I agree with you on that formz...I don't like it really shiny. I actually don't much like it shiny at all. It will not stay that way for long, because you have to try hard to not let it get dirty. Mine will probably be a little dirty.
That is one reason I am debating on the black or the red or the blue...

red. matches the car and you will see them everytime you walk up to your car. blacks good and all, but your painting them so people can see them right? i say red because it matches your car. and could be mistaken for a BBK.

how would you recommend matching that red color exactly? Or close enough not to matter? It is kind of a weird red...kind of orange..

there is different type of black paints. some are shiny and some are matte black. The best thing to do is get a kit made for caliper paintings which includes everything but a cheap qay of doing it is put clear coat after the paint and it will last. but use high temperature paint.

If you paint your calipers, be sure not to make it a blinding and ugly rice color (orange, yellow...)

Yeah, I know. My brother and I painted hi 1999 Sentra SE-L's calipers. It did pretty well, and looked really good. His car was that bright blue color (you don't usually see it unless you see one of those Sentras....SE-L) and we painted the calipers the same color. It looked awesome and matched surprisingly well. We didn't even use a clear coat. I will have to try that though.

What you have in your sig...."Shift_MyNuts" is quite possibly one of the funnies things I have heard all day!!!! That is great!
I can relate, because they just got onto me for putting three small pice right beside one another in my sig. I had to change it.

Black is gaining on the red. Any others want to see it black instead of red? Give reasons why?

(and is bright Blue out of the question with only 2 votes?)

when i painted mine.....i used high temp red spray paint (4 layers) and 3 LIGHT layers of clear coat. DO NOT over do it with the clear coat cause it'll give it this white look.....sorta looks like ***, no joke.

Bru, Personally I would go with silver because of the color of my car but since your car is that sweet crimson red i would go with black. It doesn't give that ricer appeal either. Those black capilers would be given a look by anybody across the street. Plus that black and red combo would look sweet.

I think silver would look sweet man... it would also add a little bit of contrast and i think people would really be impressed. If not silver i say go with the red.

I still cannot decide! It is driving me mad! The blue looks like it is being ruled out, because from what I understand, most of you think it would look ricey. Am I right?

Black....I like. I kind of agree with vsamoylov & takentomax...it would kind of make it look Porsche-esque. The only thing I am kind of worried about, guys for black, is it showing up enough to be worth the trouble of paiting them? I don't know about that.

RED....I am seeing that most are voting for the Red. I like this too, because it matched my car and would look like a BBK. Does the red look ricey?

PK....Where do you find the clear coat? Can I pick some up at Home Depot or Walmart?

Go with red matches your car, black you can't see. Don't do yellow or any other ricer color.

that is why yellow is not one of the poll options. Did you vote, ABK?

I forgot to mention SILVER...I don't know about this the more I think about it. I have a SE-L and the wheels are titanium color, not really silver. I am wondering if the silver calipers on the titanium wheels would look kind of funny? (*you silver guys?)

Black just took a huge leap...Those are basically the two I think I have ruled it down to, but I am open to more comments on why you think otherwise.
Please comment.

*One quick side question*--whatever color I do choose, should I paint all 4, or just the front calipers?

All 4...definitely...it'd look goofy if just the front were painted, IMO. Unless you're simply going for a BBK look...

i person think you should just do the front 2 if you do red and all 4 if you do black. and i picked up clear coat from auto zone. if walmart sells spray paint then yes, they should have clear coat.

ok look......the way i look at is this....YOU HAVE NOTHING TO LOSE (except your time). if you do it red and you dont like it, you can always paint over it black. my friend did that to his grand am on his back drums. he painted them red which looked really funny/ugly so he painted black over it....looks good now. but he has his front calipers red to go along with his red car! so if you think about it, you dont have much to lose. goodluck on your choice.

Most ricers like bright colors and that can hurt the eyes. But think if you were to go with black there would be a good matching pattern that you could start off with. Maybe black and red leather seats, later...to match the calipers? eh, eh, catch my drift?

Red, Black or Silver, I understand what your going thru cause I have a white max, and I'm debating, on similar choices. Black is sweet, not too ricey, but appealing and more classy (it looks very nice, on five-six spoke rims. Red would look sporty to me, and it would look tight still. I wouldnt go silver because well its not that noticable I think. I'm getting those brembo slotted rotors so its not worth for me to get silver, when my rotors will be the same color. My choices are blk, wht, or red. RED or BLACK no matter what it will look tight. LOL go 50/50 half red and half black. J/K

Thanks for the comments guys. Keep them coming. For those of you reading and not voting, please vote. I mean, there have been 350 views of this thread, and only like 35 posts (36 now).

I was going to paint the calipers this past weekend, but it has been raining like mad here for like the past week. I have to wait for a dry time to get everything apart and ready.

Silver will make'em look new as long as you keep'em clean. It won't take away from the car like a btight color yet won't disapear like black. I painted mine black cause my car is black I'm going for a subdude look. I'd definately go with silver with Crimson.

Red, because if you don't like it you can just paint the black over it. You could paint the calipers black and then the back of the pads red. This would look really good! I have a white Max and painted them white to match the body color.
