What do you think of this setup

i was thinking of this setup

Budget y-pipe, greddy catback, and cold air intake (not sure of what brand yet, still looking)

i was wondering
1) What it would sound like
2)How much HP would i gain (please break it up per mod)

PS my ideal sounding car would be the G35 or the fx45

well from what i hear the greddy is a much louder exhaust than say the Apexi WS, which is what i have. i think the apexi would sound more like G35 than the greddy would.

1. y-pipe+15-18hp
2. cat back=4-6hp
3. CAI=2hp (a lot of times that just shifts the power higher in the band though. I would just hack your airbox, like I am hearing everyone say they are doing for better 0-60 power. I am about to do the same.)

Sound about right guys?

I think you have to pay like $35,000 (or however much they cost) to have the G35 Coupe sound....ha ha

Both you guys, 130LeNnY96 & topdog1207, post your interest on that thread if you have not already. We need all the people that we can get. It is an excellent deal on a y-pipe.
Thanks...

MaximaTodd, I see that you want a y-pipe? How about one for only $160 shipped to your door with all gaskets and stuff included? And a Warpspeed at that? Well, there is a gd going on it and we need a solid 21 people to do it so that we can get that price. Please post on the following thread showing some interest if you can...

http://forums.maxima.org/showthread....81#post2691481

Also, I think there are write-ups in the "mod how-to's" that are at the top of the regular 4th gen forum page. Check there and let me know if you cannot find it. There are threads about it too. Lots of people have done this.

Also, Todd, there are many different methods to hack the airbox. I am probably going to do the one where you just drill some holes in the driver's side of the airbox to give it a swiss cheese look. I don't want to get too much more drastic than that. However, I don't want as much growl as some of the other guys do.

its really not too loud. sounds no where near like a "lawn mower" if you know what i mean. under regular driving its a VERY deep growl......i sometimes get a lot of noise in the cabin (depending where the rpm is) which gets kind of annoying. but its all worth it when you really hit the gas and your rpm is anywhere from 4k to redline, it sounds like a beast. a nice deep roar that comes from the engine bay not from the exhaust like most ricers! i love the way it sounds and all my friends do too. we all soup up our cars together and tell each other when we have any rice on our cars......and no one has ever said anything about the sound

I have heard so. The reason people talk so much about Budget is because it is really cheap and still good. However, with a group deal, the Warpspeed is better quality (from what I hear) and it is cheaper. I would jump on it.

also the gd for the y pipe is for a aluminized steel but budget comes in SS.
Isn't SS better?
