Dealer problem....Exhaust questions, and exhast tip suggestions needed

Just got my car back from the dealer, and they replaced my stock muffler with a new one that happens to have a nice and dinky tail pipe.
Since my car can't be vain for itself, I'll have to step in =)

Did the stock muffler (SE) come with an exhaust tip on it? Or was that just how it was?

I'm just mad because I wanted the same thing they took off! Maybe they don't make it anymore? Or did I get ripped? (I'm gonna yell at them today, but my fault for assuming right )

Anyways, if I can't get the same one, does anyone have a good suggestion for an exhaust tip? I don't want anything too crazy, just close to that stock one (a little bigger is ok)

I tried searching, but looks like they are still fixing it (memory allocation errors)

Thanks!

bump..

Anyone have some exhaust tip suggestions? Pics?

For searching purposes:
I found out the stock Nissan exhaust tip (for a 95 maxima anyways) is part# 20080-85E00 and should run around $25 (courtsey).
Sheesh, you have to ask for everything! =)

if you really want the stock tip, im sure you could jus find a used one for less than half the price of courtesy.

I would go back to the dealer and tell them you want it fixed so that it looks the way it was when you brought it in. That pipe you see is actually the same size as stock, it's just that the "chrome finisher" as it is called is around it and gives the illusion of a larger pipe. They should have used a muffler with that on, after all I believe the "chrome finisher" is listed as a feature on the new car sticker...

I have 2 SE chrome tips, wanna buy? If not, do what I did and go to WalMart or VIP and pick up a Pilot Motorsports resonated exhaust tip. At Wallyworld they are $12.99, VIP $19.99. I cut the muffler outlet down to approximately 2 inches in length, so the tip looks like a part of the muffler. Then just clamp it on. Here are the best pix i have:

And yes my muffler is painted black, they look better IMO.

You can get a tip from Autozone, Pep boys, Lappen locally in MA. All the styles can be more styling than Nissan OEM stock tip.

Thanks for the replies guys.

Yeah, I eventually figured out it was the same exhaust, just missing the tip...still annoying though.

I think I'm gonna stick with the stock one then, cause thats all I really wanted anyways.
