Is the maxima your only car?
Is the maxima your only car?
Hey, just out of curiosity, how many .orgers have another car? What do you think of it, compared to the max? I've seen some pretty nice ones in peoples sigs. Cobras, supras. Maxima is your daily driver? Maxima is my only car. It was my first car, and I couldn't afford a sports car at the time, plus the insurance was crazy. I'm probably going to get another, at first, I wanted to trade or sell the max, but now I'm probably going to keep it. Most guys regret selling their first car, right?.... I'm considering buying a vr4/rt turbo. I just want something pretty reliable, fast, and looks good. What do you guys want to drive?
I use to drive a 96 Geo Tracker, now its my mom's. Its a tight little car, but man its ****ing small. Oh also I had a BIG friend who when he sat in the passenger side, I couldnt turn too sharply cause the car would go on twos. I wish I could afford the $22,000 skylines on ebay, but then you need to add another $10,000-$15,000 to legalize it. Oh well some day.
this is my only car right now. But i plan in the future to make it my project car. I really want that turbo for my car. I don't plan to do that for a couple of years though. If i were to get any other car it would probably be a lancer evo 7.
My girlfriend (for all practical purposes she is my wife) and I share the car but I have a Honda Nighthawk 750 I use as my daily driver. Having a bike in LA is the only way to go, but I like the Max and so does she. She wants an Allroad and I want a G35 Coupe. I guess we will keep the Max till it dies but at 100,000 it still runs perfect so that might be a while. Very happy with the car overall. Just hate Nissan's Black paint. Everything that touches this car causes a scratch or chip. Same thing as my old '91 SE-R.
The Maxima has proven to be an excellent daily driver, sporty, quick and fun to drive. Granted my 240 turbo is a blast to drive but driving it in traffic can be tedious. I needed a daily driver that is comfortable, sporty and reasonably quick, and the Maxima has filled that role quite nicely. The 240 has just about every suspension mod available along with 400/300lb f/r springs, making driving in traffic rather tedious.

Have a 98 max SE and also a 2000 Accord V6.
I take the max out in the city but the accord for highway and long distance.
I find the accord more comfortable for me and handles more smoother in the highway. I for some reason find it more quicker but I do need a tune up on the max.

Oh man, scratch that VR4. I'm a college student, and yesterday, I got a call from this place I applied and interviewed at, saying I got the job, and to come in friday for training. Then a couple hours ago, they just called again, and canceled it. This sucks.
My max is a daily driver for me. She is my first car Mint engine, rebult tranny,springs..etc she will be around for a long time. I also have access to my sister's 2004 suburban and my brother in law's 2004 Avalange both great trucks to drive.
I just picked up a winter car finally this past fall, 1998 Subaru Legacy 2.5 GT Ltd. It's got about 100,000 miles on it and bought it for a steal. Perfect for these New England winters withe the AWD. Now, after 8 prior winters of owning my Max, I can finally baby her and keep her clean! Once the weather gets warmer, I'll be able to take the Maxima apart and do some projects that I've been meaning to do for a long time, now that it is not my everyday driver. Lata!

The SHO is my daily. I don't like American but I wanted something that was comfortable/options, had some power/handling but was affordable. The fit and finish is awful but the engine is gooooorgeous.
I bought it because I am working on the Max a lot and because I drive 45 miles to/from work and 60 to/from school.

i have a expedition and a lexus sc430. but i put all my money into the max and i drive it more, except this year we had a lot of snow so the expedition rules right now.. the lexus is sweet and smooth, but the max leaves it in the dust..
I own my 96 Max GXE, a 98 Civic EX, and my wife has a 98 Max GLE. I am getting a beater truck pretty soon, and when my wifes car is paid off I am going to buy a used Porsche Boxster for my summer car.

97 Maxima SE 5spd {Max}...bought used in 2000 with about 49K (currently 104K)
92 Toyota Previa LE{Gadget}...bought new in 92 (178K) {youngest daughter JR in HS}
91 Honda Accord EX...bought used in 02 (91K) {oldest daughter attending UGA}
03 Nissan Murano SL{Scoot}... bought new in 03 (11K) {wife's car}
Love my Max. Good looking, leather, auto air, great ergonomics, great engine, 5spd, handling, a real "Q" car.
Previa is/was a workhorse. Still good looking. Not a poster child for Toyota quallity I'm afraid.
Honda. What can u say, they are really nice cars. Great controls, good visibility, great features, nice ride w/ 4 whl independent suspension, lots of get up and go, and they run forever.
Murano. This car/suv is seriously cool. Great V6. CVT that is amazing, no shift jerking. Cutting edge styling. Very comfortable. Great features: in dash 6 CD changer; auto/dual zone heat/cool; power everything; abs; discs. The absolute best feature....my wife loves it!

And oh, yeah this is my only car.
I have a Toyota Celica 91 and my 97 Max, the Celica, I 've been using it for the winter plus I get better milage since I have to work 60 miles away both ways. My Celica has 195K but it runs perfect, its 2.2 L, 16V can't be stopped, still smooth at 90 m/h. I was going to sell it but I think I won't get the money I want plus the memories w/this car have been quite a few....so I had deceided that I'm going to keep until it die....
Since I just got my Max 6 months ago I don't want anything else for now...but for future references I'd like the Infinity FX45...Regards

From what I could read I'll agree. Its nice to have a quick little Integra or Civic, but they are no where near as comfortable as a Max or have that sweet torque that pushes you back into your seat.
My Max is my daily driver, My other cars are a 1982 Toyota Corolla station wagon and a 1974 Toyota Corolla Station wagon.
