99 Maxima Serpentine Belt Tensioner Pully

so i am getting ready to get deployed and before i leave, my wife "suggests" that i change the belts so she can take a trip to her parents house. "they are making noises." so turn the radio up. "just fix the f*cking car" ok. long story short the bearing on the tensioner pully is shot so i buy a new one. we drive around with the new one for a while. after 500 or so miles i leaving base and the damn thing shoots out of the bottom of the car like a rocket and goes careening down the road. i buy another one, no problems yet. the question is were there any recalls on the bolt or bracket assy that holds that pully on? i'm a jet mechanic and know a little about cars, so i'm pretty sure it wasn't my stupidity, then again.....

anybody else have this problem?

This same thing happened to me. Use blue threadlocker, and also make sure that the rectangular base of the bolt is fully engaged in the vertical adjusting slot.

Yup, I spat out at belt one time. Also, while you're under there going insane alreadt just check and make sure the power steering belt is good, because losing THAT belt can be dangerous when the steering unexpectedly firms up. (That happened to me too! Loose belt + deep puddle = major slippage = suddenly no steering assist)
