Help!! Car won't start, doesn't make clicking sound and battery is good....

Battery is 2 years old, checked out ok at local Autozone. Tried jumping battery and didn't help. Problem has been intermittent here lately. Turn key and nothing. All lights/electronics are on and security light flashes but car won't start.

It started earlier today but sounded like the battery was weak. Started again a couple times on it's own then just died in the autozone parking lot.

Could it be the starter cylanoid (can't spell)? Autozone didn't carry a cylanoid for it, just a starter switch for about $60.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!!!! Thanks!!!

ps: I jumped out the cruise control switch a couple months ago to make it stay on all the time, don't know if this has contributed in anyway????

Mine does the same. I just live with it. If anybody asks to drive my car, I respond with, "If you can start it." Only two of my close friends can start it. It takes the perfect touch. It definitely sounds like it is the starter switch. It is $55 at Nissan and is very easy to install. I'm just holding off till it won't start anymore.

Starter switch? Hmmmm, I was thinking it was the starter cylanoid. Is the starter switch in the ignition assembly??

Thanks again for any responses!

bad solenoid.

next time it does it, tap the starter soilenoid (the littler round thingy on the side of the starter) with an extension and see if its starts. if it does, just replace the starter, might as well replace the whole thing while youre in there.

that just seems to be the way Nissan starters die.
