Just did 60K tune-up...now tranny acting weird...Please help!!

I just had a local shop (very reputable) do 60K tune-up including a transmission flush. Now the car seems to get confused when coming to a stop. It doesn't change back to first gear, it hesitates and just revs for a while and then a big "clunk" and it engages. Otherwise, the transmission seems to run a lot better then before, but I didn't have the hesitation before back to first gear.

Have any of you had this problem? I'm dropping the car back off tomorrow for the shop to take a look at it.

First thing to do is check the transmission fluid level. If it's too high or too low, the trans will not function properly.

Just as a follow-up...

I did check the Tranny fluid and it was really low. I took it back to the shop that originally did the tune-up and they were very embarrassed. Basically the mechanic that did the tune-up used a BG machine to flush the tranny but did not manually check how much fliud the BG machine put back in. The BG machine is supposed to automatically put in the right amount of fluid. Obviously, it didn't do that this time.

Just an FYI...

Thanks for those that responded to my original post.

Yup. I do still have a few more things to do to complete the 60K service. I still have to replace belts, flush induction system ( I will clean the TB myself). Then it should run perfect.

My MPG has really improved after the tune-up.

I was told that sometimes shops will add a chemical when flushing your tranny to get everything out, If your tranny is in good condition it can actually harm it. I think its for high miles.....
