Hole at the end of Stillen intake?

I was just wondering what the purpose of the hole at the end of the intake is for. In the instructions for installing the intake, an A.A.T sensor goes in there? What is an A.A.T. sensor and is it important at all? Sorry, I am very new to cars. Right now the hole in my intake (already installed in my car) is not covered.

That filter is specifically meant for the 95-96 model year maxes that have an ambient air temperature sensor that is placed just before the mass air flow sensor in the stock air box. If your max is a 97+ the AAT sensor is located at the end of the air ram right were it turns into the air filter box. Just put some tape over the hole - if you don't, unfiltered air is getting into your engine. Enjoy!

I have been driving around like this for a couple of months. Should it be ok? Thank you Tool.

It's more than likely fine but I would cover the hole. Are you calling me a tool? haha
