Will springs resettle after they have been removed

Will springs resettle after they have been removed
Replaced left strut and now the left side or the car is about a 1/2" higher. I am about to do the left side but am a little worried. The springs are Eibachs and have been on the car a couple years. Is that normal. Spring seems to be seated correctly on the strut.
