paint problems

Hello everyone, i am new here, and have a few questions about the maxima's clearcoat paint. My bro purchased an Black 04 SE 6 speed with 8 miles on the odometer last year for 22g's plus tax. Here is the catch, it is a hail-damaged max. We had it fixed, and now it looks pretty much brand new, but the other day when i was cleaning his car i noticed thin white scratches over the hood and roof. Is this normal , also do you think the paint will last or will it just fall apart in a few years, please help me out here, thanks.

It sounds like the paint has been mildly scratched by a contamined chamois, or a brush from a car wash that had sand or dirt caught in the bristles. This can probably be buffed out with a orbital buffer and polish.

As for the paint quality, its hard to say. Body shops run from horrible to excellent. Does the body shop where your brother had the car painted have a good reputation?

For 22g hail-damaged, you got to anticipated these problems!

Nissan may have an effective solution for hail damage and besides Detroit News, here is another link:

Ocuihs, is that for real

Jaws we did not have the car repainted, the shop was recommanded by the dealership and they used something like PDR(paintless dent removal) for the dents. The shop seemed to be legit, my question though will the paint last if the PDR is used?
