Hey guys, need advice on this car

Hey guys, I have been looking for a 95 maxima for the past 2 weeks or so. What do you think of this? Is it worth it? I am contacting the seller to take a look at it. If it goes for like 3500 then I guess I cant go wrong right? Help me out here with any advice you have. Thanks.

its high on the miles and it has a salvage title. well a "rebuilt salvage" title. other than that, 3500 for a 96 GLE is a good buy. you should also check out the for sell section of the forum.....lots of people are sellin their maximas there for good prices. i would trust the people on the org way more than a dealership. goodluck

the item description says the right rear door was damaged and replaced, which is total bullsheet. for a car to have a salvage title, it means that the car was hit so hard that the owner's insurance company decided that a repair would cost more than 75% of the value of the car. so what does this mean to you? it means that that car got hit HARD. don't buy it. pass it up. not only that, but the fact that the seller is downplaying the extent of the damage makes him (her) shady. plus he (she) has 0 feedback. move on to the next prospect.

I'm going to have to throw in the on this one.

This has bad news written all over it. the only thing that may help is to CARFAX the VIN but sometimes everything doesn't show up but for a salvaged vehicle I would hope so.

Buyer beware...unless you are mechanically inclined and willing to deal with whatever surprises will come up if you own that car.

I emailed the guy and wrote this,
"I'm interested in the car but you are bullsheeting me with the door
damage for a salvage title. What was the damage to the vehicle? What was
the extent of the damage? Was it wrecked from the front or rear? Did it
have frame damage? I buy salvaged vehicles and this doesn't make sense.
Plus you have 0 feedback which doesn't help you.

His response:

"Who are you to tell me I am bullsheeting, have you seen the car. If you are serious, you can reach me at (718) 909 3309, so could set up a time and place for you to see the car, that is if you are not a bullsheeter yourself.

So what do ya think? Is he tellin' the truth or is he calling a bluff on the dare?

dude, why did u start off the email with such a hostile tone? One thing I've learned is that that attitude gets u nowhere. People don't wanna be bothered by some guy who calls them a bullsheeter. I mean, you don't know the full story behind the car. Maybe your missing something. It's better off u start with an approachable, inquiring mind state and get the facts ABSOLUTELY straight about the car before u start with the name calling. That's just unprofessional and shows no class. JMHO, man.

It aint gonna take much damage to total a car that old. The guy might be telling the truth. The cars you should really watch out for are 1 or 2 year old salvage title cars because those were really wrecked bad. I agree with Maxxaddict on the hostile tone...if it were me, I would not have even responded to the e-mail.
