Headlight cleaning

I was wondering if there is any way to clean the inside of the headlight lens. Or do I need to buy new ones. 97 Maxima

Take them apart, and I think you can use plastic polish or something like that...I've never done it, but I heard it works well.

I cleaned the headlights on my wife's Altima using a method I read on the .org. I don't remember who's idea it was but it worked. Me and my wife took the headlights off the car, heated them up to take them apart, and then used whitening toothpaste to clean the lenses. They went from yellow and water stained to clear. Give it a try. If the stuff will clean your teeth, it'll work on plastic too.

I'm curious to whether headlights that look dingy (like mine) need attention to the inside or outside? I've got over 140k miles on mine and thought that maybe most of the problem was the headlights kinda getting "sandblasted" from so much driving. On my last Zaino order I got some plastic polish and plan on using it on just one headlight for a while to see what happens (the first application didn't seem to do much).
